1) I'm stating the obvious, but perhaps some of you just need someone else to say it.
2) The illegal medicare vote was 100% show as ALL the Rs and a couple of Ds were allowed to look like they opposed, KNOWING that the Parliamentarian had them covered.
3) Blame Can't Carry a Thune, absolutely. But believe me, he was acting on ORDERS from his caucus. They were begging him for an out so as to NOT cut any real serious funds.
4) I also blame J.D. a little bit. He needs to test the waters on whether he can overrule the Par.
5) We are way, way past fixing anything in any one bill. Look at it this way: yes, denying illegals Medicare would be one more incentive for them to leave. But arresting and deporting them simply takes care of the Medicare thing, too.
6) Now let's get to the nitty gritty. I apparently have to say this over and over. Our system was designed for VERY SLOW, DELIBERATE change, not rapid, revolutionary change. Only in the Civil War & Great Depression did we really see such rapid change. (Not even WW I).
7) If it took us 80 years to get here, we aren't getting out in one, two, or even four. But we can make a dent. This bill does make a dent. It makes more permanent tax cuts, eliminates taxes on tips, eliminates subsidies for ridiculous wind/solar, has a whole bunch of other cuts.
8) I-you-we-ALL would like double, triple, or tenfold the cuts. But for a minute play like you're DemoKKKrats. Take what you can get now, come back next week for more. One off every cut you possibly can. The Exec can simply stop spending money where possible.
9) What is the goal? The goal is CULTURE CHANGE to a far less spendthrift, gluttonous gubment. If we get their via budget, fine, if we get there via not spending by Trump & agencies, fine.
Change the culture, you'll get your results.
10) At risk of getting many of you really torqued off, I'd say you're missing the forest for the BBB tree. The whole massive structure of government is now on Ozempic. None of these bloated programs are hidden now. Trump's secretaries are interested in actually cutting.
11) But most important, you change two things you change the world. First, deport, deport, deport and ALL COSTS EVERYWHERE WILL FALL. You cannot believe how much hidden money is going to support illegals, from additional services to more law enforcement to, hell, highways.
12) Deporting just hundreds of thousands will have a serious (good) budget impact like you can't believe. Deport millions? It will be shocking.
Second, grow, grow, grow. Deficits and debt shrink as our country gets richer. For ex., take your Citi credit card balance. Big?
12) contd . . . It's only big compared to your income. Have Bill Gates's income, it's nothing. Fixing immigration and growing the economy will get us closer to real budget reform than a hundred bills.
13) AND THAT'S THE CULTURE CHANGE. We've already seen the # of fed workers shrink bigly. This change will be with us long after the BBB and the next bill and the next bill are gone.
14) So be angry. I get it. I am too. Be angry at Thune, at J.D., at all GOP senators who . . .
14) contd . . . backed this, and then the House that will almost certainly back it too.
15) But it's not the be all or end all of anything. On the contrary, it is a sign that the evil snotpimples are frantically clawing to save ANY of their sinecures. Cuz they are all gonna go.

1) It's Sunday and fittingly, in honoring the risen Lord, the good ol' USA seems to have thrown off mud and chains in a scene straight out of The Avengers and entered a "new phase."
2) Pundits as varied as the great Salena Zito and Jeff Childers @jchilders98 seem to agree.
@jchilders98 3) Despite the lamentations of the fecalwrinkle Hoax News media & the incessant whining of the phlegmatitoid DemoKKKrat lint-mongers, Trump and America had a remarkable couple of weeks that seem to have shaken up everything.
4) First, as I predicted, the Iran Raid would be Grenada 2.0, except even better. Not a single casualty on our side. Unfortunately, some Iranian nuke scientists remain here . . . and there . . . and everywhere, but not in any single piece.
If you didn't read it last night, here was my thread on the Iran situation so far. Since then, Iran (supposedly) "retaliated" and hurled a bunch of missiles that were intercepted and the mullahs are mulling closing Hormuz, to the consternation of the ChiComs.
2) But yesterday's thread was really a foundation builder for what I wanted to say, namely, the DemoKKKrat reaction is precisely as I expected and precisely that which will further cement the party as the Party of Terror and America hate.
3) As I "mulled" this in the pool with the President . . .
1) As I like to do, I wanted to wait til some of the Iranian Fordow dust settled. It will be weeks before anyone knows for sure how much damage was done to the Iranian nuke program, but suffice it to say that when combined with the earlier Israeli attacks . . . heap big damage.
2) The extent of this damage was seen in the Iranians' response, which was "WE'RE GOING TO SUE!" Yeah, that's a real deterrent there!
3) A word on the attack itself. It was carried out with precision not seen since Schwartzkopf's "Hail Mary" in in 1991.
4) The intricate coordination of so many aircraft, cruise missiles, all working with the Israelis, and ALL done in secret---boo hoo little Jennifer Griffen---that it will be studied for years just as the Israeli raid at Entebbe or their attack on the Osirik Iraqi nuke plant.
1) It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock and roll. The lives of several one-time stars turned rugged following addition and the perpetual scourge of bad managers.
2) The death of Sylvester ("Sly") Stone at 84 yesterday of several of causes failed to mention the big one.
3) Drugs were common among all bands I worked with and knew from 1965 to 1980. Oddly, even those (such as one Buddhist guitarist I knew) who practiced vegetarianism & other "pure" & "holistic" methods of living did drugs all the time.
4) Somehow--maybe my Southern Baptist upbringing--I avoided that, only experimenting a handful of times in my entire career.
5) But it wasn't like others weren't constantly pushing the stuff on me.
1) We currently have a bunch of "IF/THENNERS" warning that "if (fill in the blank: Trump/GOP/House/Senate/FBI/DOJ doesn't do x, then Republicans will lose in the midterms."
2) Historical clue: the party out of the WH almost ALWAYS wins in the off year election. Not this time.
3) Because there is a dynamic going on that, to my surprise, almost none of the insightful people are picking up on. @RealSKeshel has started to come around on this.
@RealSKeshel 4) The economy is growing rapidly and is on the cusp of exploding. Jobs reports have been good for two months, inflation continues to fall, investment in the USA is through the roof. When all that kicks in, it will dwarf anything else that is happening.
