🧵The Lawful Uses of the Law

“The law is good, if one uses it lawfully” (1 Tim 1:8).

Christ did not abolish the Moral Law (Matt 5:17-19). He wields it as His royal instrument to expose sin, restrain public evil, and chart the saint’s course.

The three uses of the law...

ht: John Calvin

1/9
2 / Mirror - Pedagogical Use

Hold the law before your face and behold the blazing holiness of God. It exposes every stain of sin (Rom 3:20; 7:7–10) and serves as a tutor (paidagōgos, Gal 3:24) driving sinners to Christ.

The mirror condemns the conscience, but also compels the humbled heart to plead, “God, be merciful to me.”

By shattering self-reliance it directs the guilty to receive and rest upon the righteousness of Jesus alone.
3 / Muzzle - Civil Use

Picture a bridle on a spirited stallion.

Righteous statutes, backed by just and proportional penalties, restrain open wickedness (Rom 13:3–4; 1 Tim 1:9–10). Even rebels feel the terror of just law.

God’s law preserves order, shields the weak, and reminds magistrates that their authority is ministerial, never absolute.
4 / Map - Guide for the Regenerate

When the Spirit grants new birth, the law that once condemned becomes a lamp to the feet (Ps 119:105).

“If you love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15).

The law now maps the “good works prepared beforehand” (Eph 2:10), forging character and fueling gratitude.

Grace saves, law shapes.
5 / Mirror, muzzle, map

Law is never neutral. Together the law convicts the sinner, restraints the lawless, and conforms the saint (2 Tim 3:16–17). Three mercies in the hand of Christ.

But that’s not all…
6 / Law always orients

Law always orients a people to the god of the system. “Those who make idols become like them” (Ps 115:8).

Exalt self-sovereignty, and statutes catechize citizens in self-worship.

Exalt Christ, and the law schools them in allegiance to the King of kings.
7 / Law-Makers or Law-Appliers?

Civil authority exists to minister (διάκονος, Rom 13:1, 4) God’s justice, not to manufacture a rival code.

Yet fallen rulers invent ordinances that clash with the perfect law of the Lord, erecting sins God never named and excusing sins He squarely condemns.

The result is a conscience in turmoil--accusing, excusing, and never at rest (Rom 2:14-15).

Such tyranny is not stewardship; it is self-righteous lordship that Jesus hates.

“Woe to you…hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law; justice and mercy and faithfulness” (Matt 23:23).

“They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger” (Matt 23:4).

“The rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them… It shall not be so among you” (Matt 20:25-26).

Until magistrates become law-appliers rather than law-makers, deacons rather than demagogues, our civil code will continue to grind the weak, embolden the wicked, and provoke the Judge of all the earth.
8 / We get the government we deserve

Public life follows the law of sowing and reaping.

Israel longed for a king “like the nations,” and God gave them Saul--with taxation, conscription, grief, and an inversion of God’s created order (1 Sam 8:4–18).

When they melted their silver and gold into idols, “princes became devourers” (Hos 8:4).

Where righteousness is esteemed, the Lord raises up shepherd-leaders, and “the people rejoice” (Prov 29:2; cf. 2 Sam 23:3–4).

Ballots, thrones, and even coups are mirrors of the nation’s moral pulse.

Men who bow to Christ must run for office and citizens must also labor to elect them.

Cultural repentance must precede political renewal; revival in pulpits and households will be felt at the polls and in legislative halls.
9 / The Remedy

Authority will always be exercised, either righteously or wickedly. The crisis is not power itself, but power wielded with unrighteously, coercing citizens into submission to self-exalting rulers who spurn God’s law and defy Christ’s crown.

External restraints--the righteous sword against evildoers--are necessary and mandated by God, but they can restrain evil only for a season.

The true remedy is twofold: Law and Gospel.

1. Christ-honoring magistrates must rise and apply, rather than invent, the statutes of God.

2. The gospel must be preached to see the Holy Spirit grant new hearts that delight in the very Lord and law they once despised.

Lasting liberty requires internal regeneration. The covenant promise stands: “I will put My law within them, and I will write it on their hearts” (Jer 31:33).

As law and Gospel labor together, Christ-likeness is chiseled into citizens, and through them God rebuilds a culture where authentic freedom flourishes beneath the gentle yoke of the King of kings.

🧵 EXPOSED: The Trump Administration just unveiled the (not so) hidden truth behind COVID-19.

How the media, Fauci, and evangelical darling, Francis Collins, controlled the narrative, and the brave doctors who stood up against it.

1/13 Image
New House COVID report just blew up the old narrative: emails show Dr. Fauci personally asked scientists to draft “Proximal Origin”—the paper media used to brand the lab‑leak idea a “conspiracy.”

A lab accident during risky gain‑of‑function work is “the most likely origin” of COVID‑19.

Current U.S. oversight? “Incomplete, severely convoluted, and useless globally.”

On January 31, 2020, Kristian Andersen, an infectious disease expert, emailed Dr. Fauci, noting, "The unusual features of the virus make up a really small part of the genome (<0.1%) so one has to look really closely at all the sequences to see that some of the features (potentially) look engineered," and added that he and others found the genome inconsistent with evolutionary theory.

What’s happening in Colorado should wake up every Christian and every freedom-loving American. The Colorado legislature is marching headlong into totalitarianism—and they are coming for your family, your faith, and your speech.

1/
HB25-1312 would allow the state to steal children from parents who refuse to go along with transgender ideology. Read that again.

Refuse to lie about your child’s God-given identity? The state will come for them.

2/
Alongside it are bills that criminalize “misgendering” and “deadnaming”—in other words, the state is now attempting to outlaw and wage war on the truth.

If you say what is biologically and biblically true, you are now the criminal.

🧵Update on my bills from the Oklahoma Senate

Over the past five weeks leading up to yesterday's committee deadline, eight of my bills passed committee and are (or will very shortly be) eligible for a hearing on the House floor. This thread will highlight a few of them. (1/6) Image
First, SB550. This bill bans drag queens from perverse story hours on public property because we must protect our children from those who wish to sexualize them. It passed the Public Safety Committee 8-3.

If anyone wants to defend these twisted and perverse events, which are often marketed to children, please go watch the short YT documentary from @TexasScorecard, "It's Not Gonna Lick Itself", and get back to me.

I hesitate to even include the name of the documentary because of how gross it is, but exposing the vileness of what's being done to our kids sometimes means coming face-to-face with how disgusting it is. That was the name of a real drag event marketed to children. (2/6)Image
SB1121 is a bill to establish a joint House-Senate task force, with no fiscal impact to the state, to study what it would take to eliminate property taxes and replace the revenues with, ideally, consumption taxes and hopefully DOGE-like spending cuts. It passed the Revenue and Taxation Committee 8-3.

This bill was introduced alongside SJR12 which would be an amendment to the Oklahoma Constitution to entirely repeal property taxes in Oklahoma. Sadly, SJR12 did not receive a hearing, but we can still get the ball rolling with this task force, even though the real teeth are in SJR12. (3/6)Image

🧵Contra Mr. Pornlawyer, publicly publishing prostitution footage is not "speech" in any meaningful sense.

Let's look at SCOTUS precedent.

The Miller Test, established in Miller v. California (1973), holds that "obscene material is not protected by the First Amendment." (1/10)
According to Miller, content can be banned if:

1. the average person would find that it appeals to the prurient interest;

2. the content depicts sexual conduct as defined by state law; and

3. the content lacks serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value. (2/10)Image
There is no question that modern pornography meets the standard of prongs 1 and 3. The only thing missing is prong 2: an Oklahoma law defining and prohibiting pornography. That is where my bill (SB593) comes in. (3/10)

🧵MAKE OKLAHOMA HEALTHY AGAIN!

In line with the MAHA agenda, I have introduced six bills to improve quality, transparency, accountability, decentralization, and freedom in health and medical care.

First, SB943, the Medical Freedom Act, would establish that “The right of a person to refuse any medical procedure, medical treatment, device, vaccine, or prophylactic shall not be questioned or interfered with in any manner. The right of a person to public accommodation, to the equal protection of the law, and to seek restitution for harm shall not be denied or infringed upon because of the exercise of the rights contained in this section.”

This bill comes from model language written by @RMConservative. (1/9)Image
The Health Education Act is a bill to ensure that public school health curriculum stays in their proper lane of teaching nutrition, exercise, and physical health rather than wading into liberal versions of sex ed and psychological counseling that should be left to parents. (2/9) Image
Regarding this bill, as well as SB1017, I will be speaking at a rally on February 7th at the Capitol alongside other colleagues concerned with the problem of ever-expanding school-based health care that infringes upon parental rights.

I hope to see all Oklahomans there! (3/9) Image

🧵NEW PRESS RELEASE: RESTORING A MORAL SOCIETY

The radical left has destroyed the foundations of Christian civilization such that many now consider normal a society drowning in hardcore pornography, prenatal homicide, and other evils. I introduced 8 bills to change that. (1/16) Image
First, the Abolition of Abortion Act (SB456). While Oklahoma clinics no longer perform abortion, ordering and ingesting abortion pills remains legal and accessible because of massive loopholes in our pro-life laws. We must close those loop holes.

Recently published research from @AbolitionistFAA shows that an estimated 3,274 of these self-managed abortions are occurring in Oklahoma annually. (2/16)Image
You can read the report here. We must not close our eyes to the continued reality of child sacrifice in pro-life states. We cannot ask God's blessing on our nation as we turn a blind eye to the mass murder of the innocent. We must abolish abortion. (3/16)
