🧵Fascinating thread. I've tried for years to get a member of the Squad to take up the issue of Israel's nukes and use that to try to cut off funding to Israel, and none have done so.

Here's MTG raising Israel's nukes more than any member of congress has before, but it's got serious problems....
The way MTG says it almost makes it sound like she might be ok w Israel using nukes if they kept us out of it which I think is the wrong take away and could be the next stage of the imperial project....
Israel has shown that it can commit genocide and get away with it. It IS getting away with it. No one with the power to stop it is doing so. Sanctions are not being seriously applied, a peace for has not been assembled to stop the genocide. This is APPEASEMENT...
So why wouldn't imperial Israel consider going to the next level and more brazenly using its nuclear weapons exactly? ...
Does MTG have a problem with that? Or is she enabling it? Why isn't she and other members of congress talking about the Glenn - Symington amendments to cut off aid to Israel as Desmond Tutu urged in his last article?

MTG's current approach is not America First. It may be the next stage of the colonial project, which is basically defined by the current insidious relationship between the Israeli and US establishments.
What's needed is getting rid of Israel's nukes, a nuclear free Mideast and moving to wider disarmament. Not a phony "America First" that lets Israel escalate its genocidal activity.

It ended with a banner — “Glory Glory to our Martyrs” held up before a memorial in a waterfront park with Jesus Christ’s words etched in stone: "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." Above was a figure with sword in hand. ...Image

Robert Kennedy Tried to Make the American Zionist Council's AIPAC Register as a Foreign Agent

Sen. Fulbright "uncovered a massive network of financial 'conduits' moving funds directed by the Jewish Agency in Jerusalem to lobby startup groups across the United States."
AIPAC has spent more than $100 million on the 2024 campaigns. The White House recently condemned Rep. Cori Bush for attacking AIPAC after the pro-Israel group spent $9 million to unseat her. In 2022, The American Prospect reported: “AIPAC Has Taken Over the Democratic Primary Process”

CNN now blares: “Biden administration announces major actions to tackle Russian efforts to influence 2024 election.” Reuters proclaims: “Russia, China, Iran trying to influence US election, intelligence official says.” See my past piece “"Russiagate’ Was Israelgate”.

Grant Smith is author of How Israel Made AIPAC: The Most Harmful Foreign Influence Operation in America and other related books. He was interviewed earlier this year about “Why AIPAC is still Israel’s foreign agent.”

In 2009, he wrote the piece “The Kennedys vs Israel’s Lobby” published by Pulse. The piece as a standalone only seems to only be available via WayBackMachine now, so I have republished it below. He summarizes the issue in this video from a few years ago:
In his talk, he highlights his tweet to one of RFK’s pro-Israel children: “Your father's Justice Department told @AIPAC to register as an Israeli foreign agent under FARA on 11/21/1962. That was when AIPAC operated as the lobbying division of the American Zionist Council. RFK tried to engage, AIPAC didn't comply & U.S. suffers.”

Following the latest orders from the International Court of Justice that Israel halt its military offensive in Rafah, some claimed that while the orders of the Court are of course binding, there’s “no enforcement mechanism.” The Court’s orders were of course the result of South Africa’s invoking the Genocide Convention against Israel and its repeated requests for additional orders from the ICJ.

In fact, there is such an enforcement mechanism — it’s the UN Security Council. The ICJ is a court that issues orders. The UNSC should act like a sheriff which implements those orders.

The problem of course is that the US government has misused its veto power to prevent the UNSC from actually ensuring security, vetoing numerous resolutions on Palestine since October. And another UNSC draft resolution by Algeria is now in the works and it’s evident that the US government will veto and/or water it down. ...
