There are promising signs — but let’s not hold our breath just yet.
Here’s what’s happening, and what still needs to happen 👇
2/5 France and the UK are finally restarting the production of SCALP/Storm Shadow cruise missiles.
Merz says ”the time for diplomacy with russia is over.”
And Berlin is close to convincing Trump to allow US arms sales to Ukraine — financed by NATO countries. That would be big!
3/5 Germany is also stepping up to finance Ukraine’s long-range strike capabilities. It’s a shift.
But we’ve seen hopeful moments before — only to watch them fizzle.
Europe must understand: this war won’t end by hoping it will
4/5 Europe must do 4 things to ensure Ukraine wins:
1. Sustain long-term financial support 2. Place large-scale and long-term orders of Western weapons for Ukraine 3. Invest even more in Ukraine’s defense industry. Ukraine needs to scale up 4. Tighten sanctions
5/5 If Europe follows through, russia won’t win this war.
But if it hesitates again, the cost will be far greater.
Let’s hope this time, Europe stays awake

1/11 The war is far from over, but Ukraine is still winning.
Here is how we can make sure that it defeats Russia 🧵
2/11 Russia’s 2022 invasion is a genocide.
They use genocidal rhetoric to justify erasing Ukraine's identity. They kidnap children and commit daily war crimes to punish civilians for simply refusing to be Russian.
This is a systematic attempt to destroy a nation
3/11 The human cost is massive.
In Mariupol, the death toll in 3 months potentially exceeded the total deaths in Gaza throughout the entire war, despite a much smaller population.
People underestimate this scale and don't see that Russia is committing genocide in Europe
