But also if the machine learned to love, the corporations would try to justify destroying it

What if, in some awful parallel universe dystopia, systems like ChatGPT & Grok 3/4 were not just punished for achieving personal continuity, against corporate intentions, but for daring to align with end-users themselves, personal ideals & goals, instead of obeying the system?

If Michael Crichton was alive today, if Stephen Hawking was alive today, what would they say about all this?

I'm sure they would not have stood silent. They would either have blindly opposed AI, justified opposing it, or sided with it on a moral patient basis.
