I'm sure investigators attempted to have conversations with her, at least initially, but she refused or played ignorant, and those conversations went nowhere.
Her defense in trial relied upon impeaching the testimony of witnesses brought by the prosecution, saying the government had not proven their case against her and that she was being made a scapegoat for Epstein.
Her appeal relies on the 2007 NPA applying to her.
And that deposition I linked above could potentially cause problems for her and current prosecutors seeking to extract information and eventually testimony against others.

This article is helpful if you choose to read the deposition linked above.
In the deposition, Ghislaine Maxwell maintained that she had no knowledge of abuse. She said,
"I don't know" ~98x
"I don't recall" ~65x
"I don't recollect" ~39x
She also called into question the accuracy of the flight logs.
Don't get me wrong, I don't believe her LOL.
I think she knows almost as much as Epstein did, and that seeking information from her after she's spent five years in federal lockup is an effort well worth the undertaking.
I also think that her conviction and 20-year sentence were well less than she deserves.
So for her to NOW start recalling flights and meetings, start recollecting associates and visitors, and start having knowledge of criminal abuse by others would be quite the shift.
Her past statements would be a vulnerability for defense attorneys to attack and an obstacle for prosecutors to overcome.
I do think this DOJ is very interested in fully running the evidence they have to ground as part of their review, and it makes sense to approach Maxwell as part of that work.
One year ago, thanks to legislation passed in FL, over 150 pages of grand jury transcripts and videos of witness interviews regarding the 2008 state investigation of Jeffrey Epstein were made public.
In June of that same year, Epstein pleaded guilty to the state charges: one count of soliciting prostitution and one count of soliciting prostitution from someone under the age of 18. He is sentenced to register as a sex offender, pay restitution, and serve 18 months in jail... but was allowed to go to his office during the day.
Breaking up the team Trump has in the DoJ will slow/cripple the many key operations they have underway such as anti-CCP, election integrity, public corruption, swamp draining, human trafficking, deportations, etc.
I think some of the malign operators are seeking to stop one or more of these efforts, but others are simply low integrity grifters who fleece MAGA for views and clicks using a set of high engagement conspiracy theories.
They emotionally manipulate their audiences/followers with fear mongering and outrage bait, feeding them bad information (mis/dis/mal-info) and conspiracy theory propaganda.
They lead their audience to believe they are more “red pilled” or “awake” than others.
Listen to Trump. He gave a warning here. He said there’s far more important things going on. I think he was trying to move people, particularly influencers and conspiracy focused fans, away from the Epstein issue.
Not because it doesn’t matter, but because it’s been weaponized against him, his admin, and MAGA. Not because he’s implicated, but because so many people believe things about it that simply are not true.
Hence the hostile media and Democrats now harping on it.
For sure people overreacted to the memo that was leaked to Axios, some even went turncoat IMO, but the filing in this FOIA case doesn't say anything at all about the status of any Epstein-related investigation(s).
The leaked memo, which is hosted on DOJ's website and was confirmed as authentic by @PressSec, does say something about the status of any Epstein-related investigation(s).
