UPDATE RE: Unsealing of federal grand jury transcripts in United States v. Ghislaine Maxwell

The case has been assigned to Judge Paul Adam Engelmayer and he has entered an ORDER.

First, he advises that he "intends to resolve this motion expeditiously." Image
Here are at least some of the factors that he will be considering. Image
DOJ has until Tuesday July 29th to make a filing addressing these factors and any others it thinks are relevant to the unsealing motion.

DOJ is authorized to make a redacted version of this filing public. Nice.

It doesn't say that they have to, though. Image
The Court does not have the grand jury transcripts. So it directs the DOJ to, by July 29th, file the following:

(1) An index of the Maxwell grand jury transcripts, with summary, pages, and dates

(2) A complete set of the Maxwell grand jury transcripts

(3) A set of redacted Maxwell grand jury transcripts

(4) A description of any other Maxwell grand jury materialsImage
The Court directs Maxwell to file a response stating her position on the unsealing by Tuesday, August 5.

Letters from victims regarding the unsealing are also due by that date. Image

Fun fact:

Maxwell's current counsel for her appeal case is ALSO Hillary Clinton's counsel in Trump's Civil RICO case against Hillary.

That case is currently on appeal at the 11th circuit right now. Image

Just before returning to the U.S., he came into contact with Abu Saad Sudani, a member of ISIL who was planning an attack in the U.S.

Jollah sent money to Sudani to support ISIL.

In March 2016, Sudani, who was actively plotting an attack in the U.S., put Jollah in contact with an individual stateside. Sudani was hoping the two could carry out the attack.Image

🧵UNSEALED: New indictment against Zubayr al-Bakoush for his role in the September 11, 2012, terrorist attack on the U.S. Mission in Benghazi, Libya.

Charges include conspiracy, terrorism, attempted murder, murder, and arson.

Al-Bakoush is the third person to be apprehended and charged in connection to the Benghazi attack.

The other two are Ahmed Salim Faraj Abu Khatallah and Mustafa Muhammad Muftah al-Imam.

Abu Khattala was indicted in August of 2013 and captured by Delta Force in June 2014.

He was convicted in 2017, sentenced in 2018, but the sentence was later overturned due to it being WAY too low—just 22 years.

He was resentenced to 28 years and is now in the CO Supermax.

AG Pam Bondi has empowered the US Attorney for Eastern Missouri, Thomas Albus, as a Special Prosecutor for DOJ under 28 USC 515 and directed him to conduct voter fraud probes in all 94 US Districts.

His first overt move was to convince a magistrate judge in Fulton County to authorize a search warrant for their 2020 election records. The FBI executed that search warrant last week under the supervision of FBI Deputy Director Andrew Bailey and DNI Tulsi Gabbard.

Why would the DNI be there? Well, according to the WSJ, she's been given a task: investigate foreign interference in recent elections—including 2020.

This means that components of both the DOJ and the ODNI are working on election fraud and foreign interference inquiries right now. Interesting!
