🧵STATEMENT: Reza Pahlavi convenes the biggest and most diverse gathering ever of opposition activists and groups to seize the opportunity for democratic change in Iran.

On Saturday July 26th, Prince Reza Pahlavi will host the Convention of National Cooperation to Save Iran in Munich, Germany. The purpose of this convention is to agree on a road map for a democratic transition and a plan for the reconstruction of the country.

The Convention will bring together over 500 attendees, composed of political organizations and prominent dissidents and activists, entrepreneurs, academics, artists, and athletes, who represent the most diverse coalition ever established against the regime. Attendees will span the ideological spectrum of Iranian politics from left to right, monarchist and republican and will also represent the diverse array of Iran’s demographic and socioeconomic backgrounds including different religious, linguistic, ethnic and tribal groups.Image
The Convention of National Cooperation is centred on the inalienable right of the Iranian people to freely choose their future form of democratic government. It is built around three fundamental principles:

- Iran’s territorial Integrity;
- Protection of individual liberties and equality of all citizens;
- Separation of religion and state.

The day will contain speeches and policy discussions regarding their common vision for a secular and democratic Iran. There will be testimonials from survivors of the regime’s brutality and messages from those inside the country.Image
Prince Reza Pahlavi will expand upon his strategy to drive change in Iran - to mobilize a campaign of civil disobedience and strikes, to secure regime defections including through his newly established platform and to mobilize external pressure on the regime and maximum support for the Iranian people.

The Convention of National Cooperation follows Prince Reza Pahlavi’s landmark speech in Paris on June 23rd where he put himself forward to lead the transition to a democratic Iran and called for the Supreme Leader to step down. In Paris the Prince called this Iran’s “Berlin Wall moment” revealing his plan for what would happen in the first 100 days after the regime’s collapse.

There will be a livestream of the conference which can be found on the Prince’s YouTube.Image
