Ukraine’s former Commander-in-Chief, General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, has reflected on what this war has taught Ukrainians — and the world.
1/n
We are the state. On February 24, 2022, Ukraine survived because ordinary people refused to give up. Not institutions, not abstractions — people. Security always comes at a cost, and society must be ready to pay it. /2
The enemy is never as great as propaganda claims. Power is not measured in tanks or missiles, but in spirit — the will to resist, even against overwhelming force. /3
A neighbor who refuses to help in crisis becomes part of your crisis. Friendship must be mutual. And from those who will not be friends — you must know how to defend yourself. /4
Defeat on the battlefield leads to attacks elsewhere. If the enemy cannot break you in open war, they will try in your rear, through sabotage, terror, and pressure on your allies. /5
There are no miracles in war. Only laws — some as old as history, some newly forged. To ignore them is to invite defeat. To learn them may demand a terrible price. /6
Victory can be lonely. Allies do not always want you to win outright; sometimes your triumph is inconvenient to their interests. Weapons that bring no benefit to others are rarely given. /7
People are the most precious resource. Soldiers are not only lost physically but can be broken mentally. The enemy works to destroy both body and spirit. Protecting people is protecting victory. /8
Not every victory is for now. Some gains must be immediate, others long-term. Strategy is choosing which is which. /9
Allies do not always see what you see. Even the obvious can take time for others to grasp. Leadership means making the truth clear — again and again — until it becomes undeniable. /10
Every day of war is either a lesson or death. Better to learn in peace. But if peace fails, only those who learn quickly will survive. /11

Trump: “I’m disappointed in President Putin. Very disappointed in him. So we’re gonna have to look, and I’m gonna reduce that 50 days that I gave him to a lesser number because I think I already know the answer to what’s going to happen.”

2/ First of all — it was your actions and your appeasement that led to this escalation. Since you took office, russia has tripled its missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian cities and civilians.
3/ Second — if you “already know the answer to what’s going to happen,” then act. Don’t play Taco. People are dying.
"The only way to prevent World War III is to defeat russia soundly – now – before it has a chance to learn from its mistakes, modernize its military, and form a tight alliance with other adversaries. If we fail to act, they will come at the West with full force."

2/ I wrote these words two years ago. Today, we’re watching them come to life.
3/ Russia has learned. It has rearmed. It has forged partnerships with other hostile regimes. And now, according to recent reports, Putin is preparing for war with NATO – building military bases, bunkers, and training grounds near the Finnish border.
“Elon Musk sabotaged a Ukrainian attack on the russian fleet in Crimea by turning off Starlink.”
Comrade Musk is a vatnik. He has always been. The evidence was always there:

2/ He literally sabotaged a Ukrainian military operation by disabling Starlink during an assault on the russian Black Sea fleet.
3/ He ordered Starlink service to be shut off during a key offensive near Kherson in September 2022. Over 100 communication devices went offline, crippling drone operations and battlefield coordination. Ukrainian forces were unable to encircle russian positions near Beryslav.
I just recently returned from Ukraine. Two things struck me deeply.
First, the mood is grim. You feel it in the air — in people’s eyes, in their silence. There is a constant anxiety about tomorrow.

2/ Will there be another drone strike tonight? Will their family survive it? Air raid sirens are no longer background noise. They are very real. And terrifying.
3/ Second, there’s a growing sense of betrayal. Before, when I would say I’m American, people would thank the United States for supporting Ukraine. Now, they just shrug. The gratitude has faded — replaced by quiet disappointment. They feel abandoned. Betrayed.
Priests from the russian Orthodox Church blessing the russian rocket named “Satan”.
I’ve said it many times: the so-called russian Orthodox Church is not a church — it’s a sect. A state-run intelligence network masquerading as religion, directly controlled by the Kremlin.

2/ Many russian priests hold both clerical and military ranks. For example, the head of the russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill, is also a general of the FSB (formerly KGB). The EU Parliamentary Assembly officially named him an accomplice to Putin’s genocidal war.
3/ Unbelievably, this structure still legally operates in Ukraine. Russian priests have repeatedly been caught spreading propaganda, spying on Ukrainian forces, coordinating attacks, and storing ammunition in church buildings.
