Mark Carney‘a idiot finance bro personality on full display today with the announcement that Canada will “recognize” a “Palestinian state”. He says “prospects for a two state solution” have been eroded by Hamas “terrorism” and its “rejection of a two-state solution”.
As everyone with half a brain knows, Hamas has accepted a two state solution for years. Israel has been the one and only obstacle. Carney does not have half a brain so he does not know this.
Furthermore, Carney’s recognition is contingent on 1: Palestinian elections in 2026, that Hamas, the most popular Palestinian political party, are banned from, and 2: Demilitarization of the “Palestinian state”.
This would not be a state at all, nor would it be democracy. All Canada would be recognizing is the puppet PA dictatorship that acts as an enforcement arm of the Jewish occupation.
In fact, Palestine tried to hold elections in 2021, but Israel refused to allow the participation of East Jerusalem. Furthermore, how are legitimate elections expected to be held amidst the nonstop slaughter in Gaza? It’s a ridiculous proposition.
It is complete amateur hour at Global Affairs Canada, with nonsense mixed and confused messaging. Carney is clearly incompetent and out of his depth. He also doesn’t know how to pronounce “heinous”. Dullard.

The story of the Phoenix Foundation’s attempt to colonize Vanuatu in the late 70s (and other places before that) is really interesting, nice to see someone write about it. The Jacobin piece doesn’t get into some of the details so here goes a thread:
The Phoenix Foundation was group of well-financed libertarians, chief among them American real estate millionaire Michael Oliver, intent on building the ideal libertarian society.
With money from their backers and connections to intelligence organizations like the CIA and SAS, the PF tried a number of attempts to set up free market “utopias” (colonies), without taxation and regulation, in poor island nations.
