Roger Froikin @rlefraim wrote, "IT SEEMS THAT SOME MAGA PEOPLE & SOME DELUSIONAL TRUMP HATERS ARE ALL UPSET ABOUT THE US - ISRAEL AID PROGRAM, MOSTLY BECAUSE THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT IT & IN THEIR IGNORANCE THEY CHOOSE TO SCREAM LIKE THE INFANTILE PEOPLE THEY ARE.
1)
HERE IS AN EXPLANATION

WHAT IS THE US-ISRAEL AID DEAL

Whether you listen to Bernie Sanders and the Squad in Congress or Neo-conservatives like Tucker Carlson, or the pro-Hamas demonstrators, you hear the same refrain. END US AID TO ISRAEL.
2)
This demand stems from gross ignorance of what the USA-Israel Aid is and what it does and what it does not do, so here is something to think about.
3)
A. It is a false assumption that the USA has always provided aid to Israel. The first Aid to Israel from the US Government was authorized by Congress and President Johnson in 1967, almost 20 years since Israel became an Independent Republic.
4)
Before that, the only aid that came from the USA was private - by American Jews and Christians.

B. The US-Israel Aid Program came about and was designed to benefit both the USA and Israel.
5)
It stipulates that 85% of the funds provided be spent in the USA providing American jobs. It also locked Israel in to being a customer for American military products first during the Cold War.
6)
The USA also gained leverage over Israeli policy - that Israel could use American weaponry and US technology considering US interests and policy, and as Israeli technology development grew and
7)
became a worldwide phenomona, items jointly produced with US and Israeli developed technologies, could only be sold to third parties with consent of both the USA and Israel.
8)
The USA found that Israel could provide Research and Development at a small fraction of the cost that such efforts would cost in the USA, saving the US a lot. In fact, ending the Aid program has been estimated to actually increase costs for the USA more...
9)
than the cost of the program. So, this deal has been eminently good for both sides.

C. When Netanyahu was Israeli Finance Minister, he proposed that both sides consider ending the Aid Deal. At the time, the Deal was 7.5% of Israel’s GDP.
10)
Netanyahu theorized that this deal was not all that good for Israel’s economy, that in some ways, it limited Israel’s growth. Today, the Deal amounts to 0.8% of Israel’s GDP, so it would be much easier for Israel to cancel the deal now,
11)
which would free Israel to sell technologies it develops to third countries and make deals with third nations for volume production of some items. Consider that crucial components of many US systems are Israeli technology today.
12)
D. The USA has made a commitment, since the Nixon Administration to provide emergency supplies to Israel in war situations, simply because a small country has a difficulty in producing large volums of some items fast.
13)
In exchange, Israel has a commitment to listen to the USA in terms of what it does that might affect US policy.

E. Somethings to Consider:
A good argument can be made, and has been made, that Israel has shown enormous restraint in some situations,
14)
where a more definitive military solution might have been more effective both short and long term but held back at the behest of the USA. Hamas is a good example.
15)
Israel has refrained from making some choices to end Hamas years ago or to destroy Hezbollah because of US pressure.
16)
In 1973, when attacked by Egypt and Syria, when Israel was threatened with extermination, there were plans for devastating retaliation against Israel’s prime enemies, but those plans were put aside when US supplies came.
17)
Today, Israel is faced with an Iranian threat, using surrogates Hamas, Houthi forces, and Hezbollah, and if pushed into a corner, what do you think Israel might do to remove the threats — but Israel has decided to take some direction from the USA.
18)
That may not always be the case if Bernie Sanders, BLM, Antifa, the Squad, and Tucker Carlson have their way."

A long time ago in Boston, there was a politician named Eldrige Gerry.
1)
He wanted to make sure his party won every election, so he ignored any formula that made geographical sense, and drew district lines to guarantee his party victories.

That is where the term Gerrymandering comes from.
2)
And, in most states in the USA, legislatures from time to time have drawn the lines of electoral districts to protect their political interests.

Roger Froikin @rlefraim wrote, "OF COURSE THE INTERNATIONAL AND AMERICAN MEDIA HAVE IGNORED THE RIOTS IN SOUTHERN SPAIN AGAINST ILLEGAL MUSLIM AFRICAN MIGRANTS.
1)
This time, it started when a gang of African Muslims attacked an old Spanish man robbing and beating him yelling “Allah Akbar”.

In response, Spanish mobs retaliated and street fights broke out.

But where are the reports in the mainstream US media?
2)
There is no way that they do not have the facts. What is clear is that they do not care for the facts. What they care about is their political interests tied to the fact that in each case, their regimes are seen as weak, low approval ratings, and in need of Muslim support.

Parshat “Dvarim” (literally “things”) is the “State of the Nation” Address by Moses, on the eve of a great transition of the people from Homelessness to Home.

TISHA B’AV

One might assume that all Jews know something about this date in the Hebrew Calendar. It commemorates the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem 2000 years ago.
1)
Since then, many, many tragedies that have been suffered by the Jewish People have shared this date.

So, there is a custom that we fast and that in the three weeks preceding the 9th of Av, we make certain sacrifices of convenience and comfort as well to help us remember.
2)
But there is more to it - a lot more - that people, in general have forgotten, but which our sages noted that made this date much more significant, much more important than just an event 2000 years ago in Jerusalem.

Selective favoring anything NOT Jewish.
1)
They sponsor Gay pride festivals, and it's OK for them to have almost naked people performing simulated sex in public, including with children in the audience.
2)
They are tolerant and silent when Muslims pray in the street (separating male and female) or when Christians proselytize to find converts from among Jews and Muslims.

LESSON A: THE TWO STATE SOLUTION IS DEAD FOREVER.
1)
In 2006, Israel withdrew all military and all Jewish civilians from the Gaza Strip as part of allowing Gaza 100% self-Rule as an experiment demanded by the US, UK, & France,
2)
in the 2-State solution. Those three nations promised Israel that if this experiment works, then the 2-State solution could be expanded to other areas, but if it fails as many predicted, the issue would never be brought up again.
