For FAR too long, violent crime has been allowed to fester in once-great American cities.

That ENDS TODAY—starting in D.C.

President Trump stood in the White House briefing room and dropped a NUKE on pro-crime Democrat cities:

He’s invoking the D.C. Home Rule Act to take DIRECT federal control of the Metropolitan Police Department
and deploying the NATIONAL GUARD to the streets to SQUASH criminals and protect law-abiding citizens.

“This is Liberation Day in D.C., and we’re going to take our capital back.”

It was a rare sight.

The President of the United States, standing in the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room at the White House first thing on a Monday morning, flanked by top members of his cabinet.

That alone signaled something BIG was about to drop.

Alongside President Trump were Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Attorney General Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel, and other high-profile officials.

Trump wasted no time.

He declared for all of the media to hear:

“This is Liberation Day in D.C., and we’re going to take our capital back.”

The president announced that he would be invoking the D.C. Home Rule Act to place the Metropolitan Police Department under direct federal control...an unprecedented move to crack down on crime in the nation’s capital.

“And we’re here for a very serious purpose. Very serious purpose. Something’s out of control. But we’re going to put it in control very quickly, like we did on the southern border.”

“I’m announcing a HISTORIC action to rescue our nation’s capital from crime, bloodshed, bedlam and squalor and worse.”

“We’re taking it back under the authority vested in me as the President of the United States, I’m officially invoking section 740 of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act. And placing the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department under direct federal control.”

Trump isn’t messing around on crime. No more third-world cities in America.

That all ENDS today.

But the president made clear this was only the beginning.

In addition to federalizing the D.C. police, Trump revealed he was deploying the National Guard to the streets...pointing out that D.C.’s crime rates now surpass those of cities infamous for violence.

Beyond shameful for an American city.

“In addition, I’m deploying the National Guard to help reestablish law, order and public safety in Washington, D.C., and they’re going to be allowed to do their job properly.”

Then came the numbers.

“Now, the murder rate in Washington today is higher than that of Bogota, Colombia, Mexico City—some of the places that you hear about as being the worst places on Earth, much higher. This is much higher.”

“The number of car thefts has doubled over the past five years, and the number of carjackings has more than tripled.”

“Murders in 2023 reached the highest rate, probably ever. They say 25 years, but they don’t know what that means because it just goes back 25 years, can’t be worse.”

“Our capital city has been overtaken by violent gangs and bloodthirsty criminals, roving mobs of wild youth, drugged out maniacs and homeless people. And we’re not going to let it happen anymore. We’re not going to take it.”

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth followed with a clear message to the troops headed for the capital:

“Be TOUGH, be STRONG. We’re right behind you.”

It was pure FIRE from the SecDef. He was laying down the law on crime-ridden Democrat cities and backing the president up with the military might to do it.

He confirmed that at Trump’s direction, the D.C. National Guard had already mobilized.

“You will see them flowing into the streets of Washington in the coming week,” Hegseth said, adding that more units were ready if needed, including specialized teams.

He pointed to the military’s track record at the southern border, where “defense zones” guarded by 10,000 troops have seen “ZERO illegal crossings.”

After years of protecting other nations’ borders, Hegseth said, “It’s about time we protect our own.”

“We will work alongside all DC police and federal law enforcement to ensure this city is safe, this city is beautiful,” he said.

“And my message to the National Guard and federal law enforcement in Washington is: We have your back as well. Be tough, be strong. We’re right behind you.”

Then came one of the most powerful moments of the morning.

Judge Jeanine Pirro, now serving as U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, took DIRECT aim at the city’s broken justice system.

She’s a fighter.

“We all want the same thing. We all want a safe city. We want a safe capital. We want to be able to bring our families here. We want to be able to come and enjoy the history that makes this place great. And unfortunately, we are not in that position right now.”

Pirro thanked Trump for “taking the step that we need right now to make criminals understand that they are not going to get away with it anymore.”

“I see too much violent crime being committed by young punks who think that they can get together in gangs and crews and beat the hell out of you or anyone else. They don’t care where they are. They can be in Dupont Circle, but they know that we can’t touch them.”

“Why? Because the laws are weak. I can’t touch you if you’re 14, 15, 16, 17 years old and you have a gun.”

This problem is not unique to Washington, it is happening all across the country in Democrat jurisdictions.

She shared one example that stuck with her.

“I convict someone of shooting another person with an illegal gun on a public bus in the chest, intent to kill. I convict him. And you know what the judge gives him? Probation. Says you should go to college.”

“We need to go after the D.C. Council and their absurd laws. We need to get rid of this concept of no cash bail. We need to recognize that the people who matter are the law-abiding citizens. And it starts today.”

“But it’s not going to end today because the president is going to do everything we need to do to make sure that these emboldened criminals understand, we see you. We’re watching you, and we’re going to change the law to catch you.”

Pirro slammed the revolving door for juvenile offenders.

“They go to family court and they get to do yoga and arts and crafts. Enough! It changes TODAY.”

Enough is enough.

He named WHO he believes was behind its origins—and said it has “all the earmarks of a CIA kind of conspiracy.”

But it’s what he said about President Obama that could lead to an INDICTMENT:

“You’re not immune for the rest of your life as president.”

He hit the ground running.

Rudy Giuliani has a unique perspective on the Democrats’ Russia Coup against President Trump.

Not only is he a lawyer and American legal heavyweight, but he’s also experienced Democrat lawfare aimed directly at him.

Now he says Barack Obama will attempt to hide behind “presidential immunity” in the Russia Coup investigation....but there’s one major problem that could open the door to an indictment.

“You’re not immune for the rest of your life as president,” Giuliani said.

Speaking with David Harris Jr., he laid out Obama’s potential legal risk.

“Obama becomes a problem because he will invoke presidential immunity,” Giuliani explained.

“The decision the Supreme Court made that that helped Trump. The acts are kind of different… but there’s a problem for Obama.”

That problem, according to Giuliani, is the timeline.

“It continues after he’s president. So starting on January 1st, 2017, any participation of him in the conspiracy is not immune. You’re not immune for the rest of your life as president.”

In other words, immunity only applies to actions within a president’s term.

“So he’ll be immune if whatever allegations against him are contained within his presidency,” Giuliani said.

“But if he’s helping to assist over that three-year period that they pushed Russian collusion into 2017 and 2018, then he’s… of course, he could be indicted for that.”

Giuliani then pointed out that the Supreme Court’s ruling on presidential immunity is not a free pass for criminal conduct...and that Obama’s alleged involvement in the Russia Coup is FAR MORE serious than anything alleged against Trump.

David Harris Jr. pressed the point: “If a president is literally directly breaking the law, he just doesn’t just get to go away with it. Walk away scot-free.”

“I think you’re right, David,” Giuliani replied.

“I think, you know, we’re all talking about an interpretation of the Supreme Court decision. The Supreme Court did not actually—didn’t give ABSOLUTE immunity to a president.”

He added, “And the acts alleged here are far more serious than the allegations against Trump, which were, first of all, false, but even if they were true, they weren’t nearly as serious as this. So I don’t know if it holds up.”

Victor Davis Hanson says Trump has cut off the head of the SNAKE.

Victor Davis Hanson didn’t waste time.

He opened with a direct hit to the “progressive” left:

“DEI, the acronym for diversity, equity and inclusion is dying.”

Just a few years ago these race-based policies were everywhere, pushed by institutions and corporate boards at the peak of their influence.

But Trump’s return to power changed everything.

Through executive orders, Hanson explained, Trump cut off DEI’s lifeline: federal funding.

If an organization wanted to keep getting government money, it had to drop the program.

“And why did Donald Trump not like it? Because he said the emperor has no clothes.”

In Hanson’s view, DEI is nothing more than legalized discrimination, where skin color [not ability] determines who gets hired, promoted, or tenured.

And opposition to it isn’t only coming from one group.

“When you look at the polls, it’s not just that 60% of so-called White people who often feel they’re victimized by DEI oppose it, but Hispanics and Blacks also poll that they are against it and that’s baffled people.”

It’s not baffling at all, he said, when you think about it.

Many minorities don’t want the stigma of being labeled a “DEI hire” when they’ve earned a job through merit and hard work.

Hanson then went on to masterfully break down the three reasons he believes DEI is IMPLODING...and why Trump will emerge victorious in the fight to abolish it.

The first reason, he said, is historical distance.

DEI grew out of affirmative action in 1965, which was meant to address the Jim Crow South and the legacy of slavery.

At the time, America was about 89% white and 11% Black, and African Americans, on average, were far poorer than whites.

The thinking was to boost opportunities based on skin color, even if that meant implementing quota-like systems.

But, Hanson as pointed out, that was three generations ago.

“First of all, from 1965—if you think about it, we're 35 years in the 20th century and 25 in the 21st. We're 60 years behind that.”

“We’ve had three generations who grew up without Jim Crow and no knowledge of systemic racism, essentially.”

Today, he said, young Americans haven’t lived through the era DEI was meant to address.

“But the point is flagrant racial prejudice—three generations haven't seen it, but they have seen bias predicated on race through DEI.”

Today, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem was giving a press conference from Lombard, Illinois.

Lombard is a suburb of Chicago, which has become a HOTBED for illegal alien crime due to both sanctuary city and sanctuary state policies.

It was clear.

Noem was sending a message to the Democrat leaders, both Governor Pritzker and Mayor Johnson: clean up your room or the feds will step in to get it done.

“Today I’m highlighting four different examples of individuals that we’ve recently arrested here out of this office with the good work of ICE and HSI officers that we’ve taken off the streets without the help of governor or mayor.”

“Federal officers did it alone without their support.”

She began by naming some of the criminals her team has taken off the streets in the area.

Their rap sheets are disturbing, to say the least.

“Hector Bonaparte is a 42-year-old illegal Mexican alien who had previously been convicted of predatory sexual criminal assault against a victim under the age of 13.”

“We have Jarvin Flores Santos, who’s a 40-year-old Honduran individual who was arrested back in 2020 the first time for aggravated criminal sexual abuse and attempted criminal sexual abuse of a minor under the age of 13, again.”

“And Waldemar Dzbik, a Polish citizen who had been convicted in 2014 for attempted murder and also aggravated domestic battery. He was convicted of these after he stabbed his own wife and his 19-year-old daughter.”

“Dongay Silas, a 33-year-old illegal alien from Micronesia, has had three DUI convictions, as well as convictions of criminal mischief, wanton endangerment, and driving without a license.”

Noem then made it known to everyone in the room, that if the radical left mayor and governor had their way, these criminals would still be on the streets...harming others.

“These individuals would still be out on our streets today committing crimes and attacking people and harming them and hurting our children if Governor Pritzker and Mayor Johnson had their way.”

“Their choice has been routinely, over and over and over again, to release these criminals on the streets.”

Then came the most disturbing piece of data of the entire press conference.

Secretary Noem reiterated that ICE officers now face a 1,000% increase in assaults.

Sickening.

“Yesterday we announced now ICE officers are facing a 1,000% increase in assaults against them and you read about the stories and hear what is happening from coast to coast every day in our national media and in our press.”

As Noem made clear to the media who refuse to cover it, this kind of increase does not come out of nowhere.

It is a direct result of rhetoric from the media, from elected officials, and from the Democrat Party.

“But it is in large part due to the pro-sanctuary states and city policies and the language of elect bureaucrats that are reckless with their lives and endangering their families.”

Then, Noem doubled down on what these people were put into office to do, rather than slander ICE officers.

“Every public official should talk about and work to protect people.”
