How a conversion racket entered a Bihar village in the guise of coaching center - a shocking field investigation by @RashtraJyoti
1. One Sushma Kumari rented a house in Musahar (SC) colony of Kannauji village near Patna. She used most of the open space to make a hall with a shed and dias.
This is how it looked
She told everyone it was a coaching centre for poor kids
Children began attending it. What happened in name of education is this:
-They were taught to say Amen, and thrashed for saying Jai Vishwakarma or Jai Shri Ram
-They were asked to tell their mothers not to wear bangles or sindoor
-They were taught that deities like Hanuman and Ram are false Gods and imaginary while Yesu was their true God
-Sushma and three other “teachers” would do theatrics to show love for yeshu
Watch testimonies of Musahar residents collected by @RashtraJyoti
The centre operated for about a year. Then one resident took initiative
Deepak mobilised protest against the illegal conversion activities, called the police and filed a complaint
Police booked Sushma and three others for “outraging religious feelings” (sections 299 and 302 of BNS)
Bihar does not have anti-forced conversion law yet
Seizure memo prepared by police shows they recovered Bible, a manual for evangelists, book on “chosen people” etc
It’s pure evil how they targeted these poor people in name of giving free education to kids
But thanks to action by a few residents, the evil racket has been driven away from the village
This is what we have to enable - grassroots leadership and awareness
@RashtraJyoti Yajna is precisely this. We have held Rashtra Jyoti Samvidhan Rakshak awards in various parts of Bihar to raise awareness against such fraud, and honoured villagers who took lead. One of the villagers we honoured is 65-year-old Ramnath Manjhi who didn’t let fraud evangelists build a hall outside his house and even went to jail for i
We have also held Swagat Yajnas for those who were culturally uprooted through such propaganda
No village or town or mohalla must let such fraud thrive. Please follow and support @RashtraJyoti
Just went through 100+ pages of official documentation about an illegal religious structure standing in Delhi’s Mangolpuri since 1978, on a land supposed to be a public park
Shocked to find 35+ official complaints by various govt depts all these years, yet the structure stands. Multiple court notices, yet it stands.
Mangolpuri Y Block ‘Muhammadi Masjid’ seems to be a textbook example of how encroachment mafias operate and how ‘minority under attack’ narrative is used to thwart action
Thread 🧵
The land was originally earmarked by DDA as a public park - a vital green lung for Delhi’s residents. But slowly, all greenery was cleared and a mosque-madrasa complex started coming up under the leadership of one Nanhe Khan
Encroachment began with illegal cutting of trees, illegal borewells, unauthorised walls, permanent structures, minarets, even installation of water tanks - all done illegally and step-by-step
Fully documented in repeated letters from MCD Horticulture Dept.
Field officers of MCD filed complaint after complaint to SHO Mangolpuri, DCP Outer Delhi, Delhi Police Headquarters, and even to Home Ministry
Yet no FIR was ever registered against culprits, and this was despite complaints of direct threats issued to govt officers
Of course, some officials also colluded with encroachers. Specific names like Beat Officer Mobin figure repeatedly in written records.
Just returned from a village in Bihar where this illegal mass conversion baptism ritual was carried out last month
Women were made to dip in Ganga river, and their teeka-sindoor wiped off as a signal that they have abandoned Sanatan Dharma. Clearly seen in videos
A thread 🧵
Village is Badka Gaon. A few villages away stands a centre with a cross where poor illiterate people are fooled that diseases are caused by devil (shaitaan) and exorcism in name of Yeshu can cure them
They call it church. It is in reality a factory for conversion of Hindus
When some aware residents of Badka Gaon learnt about this event, in which many of their own neighbours were participants, they went there and got it stopped
Police were called however no case was filed. Bihar doesn’t have anti-forced conversion law
Ground report from Bihar
-How a village was targeted by an illegal conversion racket
-how police chose to harass villagers instead of accused
-How our reporter recorded blatant proofs of conversion attempts even though police have already declared no evidence found
Around 20 km from Chhapra in Bihar, in Chacha ka Tola of Revilganj block, a man named Jyoti Prakash, originally from Aurangabad, rented the house of one Farzan Ali in a largely Hindu village
Every Sunday, he would call villagers for ‘special prayers to treat illnesses’. Some Hindu women even started going.
As will be detailed in this thread later, he would ask the women to give up Chhat Puja, Durga Puja, jal abhishek in Shiv temples and bindi-sindoor.
Soon, he bought a piece of land (where did he get the money?) and told everyone he was building a school. He asked for neighbours to sign on an agreement, even though villagers wondered why he needed their signatures for school.
Not much literate, they even signed. Construction started
Unbelievable handling by Bihar police of the fraud by missionaries to convert Hindus. No wonder these conversion factories are enjoying a free run across India
You must know about this case:
1. Residents of a village in Saran district went to police complaining that a man named Jyoti Prakash, who had already converted and joined missionaries, claimed to be building a school on a plot of land after taking signatures from them, but was instead building a church
See the villagers protesting outside the under-construction building +
2. As per the villagers’ complaint, Prakash was distributing a Rs 1000 cash envelope, a Bible, some snacks and a bottle of water that ‘would cure diseases if consumed with chant of Hallelujah’
But, police found no “evidence” of conversion!
See the complaint by villagers and the press note by police
3. After police didn’t act, some alert villagers, aware of the conversion racket, entered the disputed building in protest. Now police finally acted - by detaining the protesting villagers!
The charge? That ‘anti-social elements tried to disrupt electricity supply of a vishesh samuday’
On Meghalaya-Assam border, the region’s largest Hindu festival takes place every year around this time
But last year, two minor girls were gangrapd by men - all from Muslim community of Assam - sending shockwaves and bringing to fore years of demographic change concern
Read:
The four-day festival is held near the revered temple of Chenga Benga in Gandhipara village, South West Garo Hills, Meghalaya. It’s organised by northeast India’s Konch-Hajong communities, known for continuing their Hindu religious practice
Girls were from this community

The horrific case happened on 16 April, 2024. Then NCPCR Chairperson @KanoongoPriyank took up of the case, putting pressure on police and administration to act.Police made at least 9 arrests within 10 days.
Akram and Saud slaughtered a cow and threw its head on road at night. Local Hindus were obviously incensed
But unlike Nagpur, no mob violence, no attack on homes and vehicles, no arson. Instead, Hindus enforced social boycott of accused families
What I found in ground visit🧵
In January, at Mathania market chowk in Jodhpur, carcass of a calf was found early morning. Hindus in the area gathered and staged a protest
FIR 4/25 was filed at Mathania police station same day. CCTV footage revealed the killers as 20-year-old Saud (son of Yunus) and 28-year-old Akram (son of Abdul Lateef), both locals of nearby Tinwari area
They were arrested under Rajasthan’s anti-cow slaughter law. Police released a press note the next day
When I visited the spot, I found that both Saud and Akram live in Hindu-majority localities, though in adjoining colonies. And that after appeal by local Hindus, both families were boycotted by both communities.
The boycott continues
First I visited Saud’s family, which is the only Muslim household in an all-Hindu Meghwal caste colony
Saud’s father Yunus is also in jail. The house now has Saud’s mother Khatoon, wife (just 3 months into the marriage), and three sisters
They confirmed that no neighbours are talking to them or selling to them.
Hindu locals told me: “How can we stay friends with someone who slaughtered our Gaumata?”
(See picture of Saud’s house (left) and the rest of the colony):
