I'm sure there are a lot of people, who think they are committed to climate action, who think I am being totally unrealistic, saying we need to stop burning fossil fuels.

Firstly, we've had 33 years since the 1992 Rio Earth Summit, to be systematically phasing out fossil fuel burning and not developing any more reliance on them. Not suddenly stopping, we've had 33 years to do it gradually.

Let's look at the usual arguments, that we need to carry on with the mass burning of fossil fuels, to maintain a civilized lifestyle. I have addressed this on countless previous occasions.

Less than 18% of the global population, own a car, and only a similar amount fly, with only a few percent flying regularly. In other words, only a relatively small proportion of the global population rely on large scale burning of fossil fuels to maintain their lifestyles.

However, most of that 20% who do need a lot of fossil fuel burning, to maintain their lifestyles, only use moderate amounts of fossil fuels. It's actually the top 10%, really top 1%, top 0.1% responsible for most fossil fuel burning to maintain their lifestyles.

The richest 1% have over twice the carbon emissions of the bottom 66%. In other words, this scale of fossil fuel burning, hasn't been to preserve the lifestyles of most, it's actually the top few percent, the top 1%. Pure selfishness, by the greediest.

In other words, the refusal to phase out most fossil fuel burning, isn't to preserve the lifestyles of most people, but to preserve the greedy, selfish lifestyles of the top 1%. By no coincidence, every person in a major decision-making position, is in the top 1%.

My views on this are not simplistic or unrealistic. It's just that richest people in the world, don't think they need to curtail their greedy lifestyles, even if they're going to collapse our civilization, that will result in billions starving to death. They are psychopathic.

We are consigning our future generations, to a horrific future of mass starvation, just to let a tiny proportion of the global population, lead greedy, selfish and extravagant lifestyles.

Yes, I have a simplistic view as regards the selfish and evil behaviour of the top 1%.
