Visiting Ukraine for the 4th time since the full scale invasion. 🇺🇦 Defence minister @Denys_Shmyhal and I have now signed an agreement on the production of defence materiel by 🇸🇪 and 🇺🇦 companies in Sweden. We are aiming to increase our defence industrial output. (1/5)
Ukraine will share and provide technology for its factories in Sweden and defence materiel co-produced in Sweden will be exported to Ukraine. Co-produced equipment can also be procured for the Swedish Armed Forces. (2/5)
This letter of intent will be followed by further discussions between Sweden and Ukraine on how we can deepen defence industrial cooperation. We can learn a lot from each other and this agreement aims to make use of that possibility. (3/5)
Ukraine already supplies almost half of its battlefield needs through its own defence industry: a major move toward self-reliance in wartime production. This agreement can strengthen that resilience even more. (4/5)
In summary, this agreement will strengthen Sweden’s, Ukraine’s and Europe’s defence industrial base. It can boost Swedish rearmament and meet the needs of Ukraine's armed forces. (5/5)

The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) has mapped the market’s ability to produce defence materiel with short delivery times of about 0-24 months. Sweden will in this package procure new equipment from the defence industry for about $912 million. (2/6)
Much of the international military support is goes through multilateral initiatives, coalitions within the Ukraine Defence Contact Group, and purchases from Ukrainian defence industries for donations. Sweden will donate about $465 million to these funds and initiatives. (3/6)
🇸🇪🇺🇦 Sweden can today present an artillery package worth approx. 300 million USD to Ukraine through package 18. Sweden will procure and donate 18 additional archer artillery systems and 5 ARTHUR (artillery hunting radar) systems to Ukraine. (1/5)
Sweden has previously donated 8 Archer systems to Ukraine. They are appreciated by 🇺🇦 and have done a good job at the front in delivering damage to the Russian occupiers. With a combination of speed, precision and mobility, Archers are a formidable weapon in Ukraine. (2/5)
The five ARTHUR systems will help detect artillery shells and calculate their place of origin. This will provide the position to friendly systems for counter battery fire. The Arthur system has previously been donated to Ukraine by Sweden and the United Kingdom. (3/5)
Today Sweden is announcing that we plan to contribute with multiple JAS Gripen fighter jets to two NATO operations in Poland. They consist of protection of NATO logistical support to Ukraine & Air policing over Poland. We stand ready to protect our allies & friends. (1/5)
Today, we have presented a proposal to parliament that Sweden should send up to 8 JAS Gripen to protect the airspace over NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine (NSATU). They would act in a NATO air defence mission to protect mil and civ support to Ukraine. (2/5)
This also includes associated personnel, including combat control and support units, as well as airborne and maritime surveillance and airborne transport capability. Sweden has received an invitation from NATO to contribute to this operation. (3/5)
🇸🇪 today announced the biggest military aid package to 🇺🇦 yet for approx. 1,2 billion USD. Apprx. 90 million USD will be allocated towards production of 🇺🇦 long-range missiles and drones. Sweden will also send military aid in the form of AT4:s to Moldova. (1/9)

Sweden will soon contribute substantial funds to make Ukraine able to mass produce Ukrainian long-range missiles and long range drones. Presented the news with 🇺🇦 defence minister Rustem Umerov at Karlberg Castle today. (1/4)
This will be made possible through the Danish model. It aims to channel funds to the Ukrainian defence industry to make them able to build more indigenous weapon systems. This increases the industrial base in Ukraine and Europe. (2/4)
Sweden stands ready to cooperate with partner and allies to further develop and increase Ukraine’s long-range capabilities. Ukraine must have the tools available to defend itself. (3/4)
🇸🇪 government today decided to reject the applications of 13 offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea, while granting one (Poseidon) on the Swedish west coast. The reaction time in the event of a missile attack could go from 2 minutes to 60 seconds with wind farms in the way. (1/4)
With war in close vicinity, Sweden finds itself in a serious security situation. Defence interests must carry significant weight when these kinds of decisions are made. We also have a special responsibility within NATO for security in the Baltic Sea. (2/4)
It is especially important for the Swedish Armed Forces to be able to operate at full capability in those areas of the Baltic Sea where applications now have been rejected. The proximity to the heavily militarized Kaliningrad area is also important in this context. (3/4)
