In an FOI response, @WelshGovernment stated they had sent a Ministerial letter to Baroness Falkner at the @EHRC.
That letter was from Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice Jane Hutt.
But we can exclusively reveal there’s even more!

What do you think @WelshGovernment’s considered response to the EHRC consultation following the Supreme Court judgment would be?
3 options to follow!
Will it be:
a) An impeccably logical analysis of the draft guidance, providing useful commentary?
Nope. Not that at all. 1/5
Or is it:
b) An empassioned examination of where the TQ+ will be disadvantaged by discovering they never legally had the ‘rights’ (entitlements) Welsh Government told them they had?
Nope. Not that either.
2/5
Or could it be:
c) A level headed acknowledgement of the restoration and protection of the rights of women and girls to privacy, dignity, safety and fairness?
The Party of Wales @Plaid_Cymru have ambitions to dethrone @WelshLabour in 2026, but their
leader @RhunapIorwerth will need to address the frankly bonkers statement 👇 that is still live on their website.
Hey @RhunapIorwerth , are you planning to get candidates for 2026 Senedd elections to also sign this pledge?
Because if so, the people of Wales need to know your candidates are promising to ignore women's rights and break the law.
2/
.@Plaid_Cymru must respect the Supreme Court judgment.
Because this 👇 looks very much like they don’t respect women’s single sex spaces are just that - single sex. They are blatantly encouraging unlawful activity here.
Beware women of Wales. For you and your daughters.
Thread 🧵
Excellent meeting at @Monmouthshire council, including a discussion on their Strategy Equality Plan.
Credit to the awesome resident from WRN Wales who pointed out the inaccuracies and misrepresentations to her councillor - and had these corrected 👏
Link follows 👇 1/
Our WRN resident raised concerns with councillor Christopher Edwards, about a whole host of problematic references and inaccuracies in the Plan.
He represented her superbly, referencing the Supreme Court judgment and the Equality Act.
Local democracy working. Diolch! 2/
Issues raised: 1. Protected characteristics listed incorrectly/missed out completely. 2. References to the Welsh Government's LGBTQ+ Action Plan need review - as now not compliant following the Supreme Court judgment.
WRN Wales teamed up with @women_outspoken today in a joint action outside Mumbles Yacht Club @mumblesyc to draw attention to their dreadful policy of allowing men to use the female showers, changing rooms and toilets.

Cathy and Dee explain more here 👇.
@mumblesyc have not bothered to consult with, or consider their members.
They expect women and girls to sacrifice their privacy and dignity to accommodate the wishes of a man to be in female spaces.

We wrapped ourselves in towels to illustrate the appalling policy of the club.
Women and girls should NOT be expected to leave in wet sailing gear, or hide behind towels and dry robes in their own changing rooms.
HERE WE GO AGAIN. 🚨
@WelshGovernment have released their voluntary Diversity & Inclusion guidance for political parties.
The consultation closes on 7th January 2025.
1/8 🧵
Draft diversity and inclusion guidance for registered political parties [HTML] | GOV.WALES
The guidance is split into three parts for political parties: 1. Publication of a strategy 2. Collection of data 3. Quotas for women candidates
For obvious reasons, we are particularly interested in Part 3.
2/8
The guidance refers to 'specified characteristics' which go beyond the Equality Act 2010.
Sex is referred to within this and IS linked to the Act.
HOWEVER. This section relates only to Parts 1 and 2. Strategy and Data. NOT quotas for women.
Guess what this means? 3/8
