The IDF captured loads of Hamas documents, now leaked by the press, including from the desk of Hamas leader Sinwar himself, showing in detail that the terror org was monitoring every single aspect of the protests to topple BIBI before OCT 7 - down to which units were refusing to show for duty in the Israeli Army.
Recall that there were weekly organized protests in Israel leading up to OCT 7.
Hamas documents show that the number one motivator for attacking Israel was the discord inside Israeli society the protesters were causing, and that Hamas intended to capitalize on the chaos, believing Israel and the IDF in particular were weak. Hamas focused primarily on the Israeli air force where pilots as part of the protest movement for weeks announced they were refusing to serve.
The protests are all political now, it's not about hostages. These protests only make the cost of retrieving hostages even higher, and the task more impossible. These protests are risking the lives of the IDF soldiers who need to go fight in GAZA City now to protect the country.
The few hostage families remaining have been radicalized by the pain of their missing loved ones, and are being used as a political vehicle to tear Israeli society apart, just like the protests before the war led primarily by opposition to the government and opposition politicians, just like the protests which according to Hamas, directly led to the OCT 7 Massacre.

There is very little English reporting on this story from this past week in Israel about the link between OCT 7, Hamas, and the Israeli protests.
Most media support the toppling of this Israeli government and the immediate end of the war (which means surrender to Hamas), and the fact that the previous protests shared this same political goal, and it led to the OCT 7 Massacre is not good PR to say the least. Here is the video report from i24.

This organization Achim Leneshek, which led the protest and desertion movement in Israel prior to OCT 7 was directly cited by Hamas as cleaving Israel in two and weakening the IDF, just weeks before the OCT 7 attack was greenlit by the Islamists.
That's what Hamas said and it is all true. I get it, this is uncomfortable for many to hear because the protest movement has wide support in Israel, that does not change the facts of what happened.
