Drone warfare during exercise Joint Viking 2025. 🇳🇴 Forsvaret shows the way. This is a much needed approach.

UAS are reality, both advantage and threat. Same as with mines or anti-tank weaponry, we need to adapt&integrate both technical AND tactical solutions to..

⬇️1/8
...utilize this technology and new layer (not replacement!) of ground, aerial and maritime warfare, as effectively as possible for our gains, and at the same time, minimize the threats and effects that enemy unmanned systems will have on our own forces.

⬇️2/8 Image
Because ground (and other operational domains) warfare with "traditional" means, such as IFV's, artillery, etc. is not going anywhere, drones are just another layer, in some cases new, in some cases they are low-cost alternatives and in some cases they are force multiplier

⬇️3/8 Image
So learning how to work with them and work it out, is a needed step if we (Europe) want to stay effective and maintain relevance.

Approach demonstrated by 🇳🇴 Combat Lab, that can be described as "you do your thing, we will fu*k you up"

Is IMHO the most effective...

⬇️4/8 Image
Why? Because it can be hard to imagine for many, the extent of complications (and possible advantages) that unmanned systems bring to the table...

But exercises like this bring hard data, they bring reality to sterile conditions, that are no longer relevant...

⬇️5/8
Seeing first-hand the effectiveness of UAV's, and how the usual SOP's fail and simulated casualities are piling up, is a strong incentive for commanding structures to really start working the problem, do some R&D on both tactical and technical level and adapt...

⬇️6/8 Image
We need that. NOW. Otherwise, should the worst happen, casualities will be piling up and they won't be simulated

They will be real & unnecessary. Soldiers down in the mud will pay the price for the rigidity of a system that was unable to adapt when there was time to do so

⬇️7/8 Image
Given the relatively (in general) small European national forces with limited trained reserves and (arguably) today's low societal tolerance for massive casualities. Especially eastern flank armies cannot afford to go into conflict poorly optimized and prepared for how...

⬇️8/9 Image
... battlefields of today and tomorrow look like, with massive proliferation of unmanned systems.

So yes, "combat labs" that will "stir up the water" during exercises, are most likely necessary aspect, to better optimize our forces for new and upcoming realities of warfare

Lvkv90. Swedish CV90 SPAAG.

Should Czech Forces look for such or similar vehicle or.... do we already have it?

THREAD

⬇️1/x Image
First. Let´s look how and why Lvkv90 came to life.

While Strf9040A´s had UTAAS, they lacked several aspects that would make them truly effective against aerial targets. And Swedes wanted mobile SPAAG´s to protect their maneuver formations.

⬇️2/x Image
Solution? Basically take Strf9040, enlarge its turret to fit in PS-95 radar and more advanced electronics (including IFF) change the mounting of L/70 40mm Bofors to increase elevation to 55° and make use of programmable munition available

You have Luftvärnskanonvagn 9040A

3 years...

It was on 24th February 2022 when I stayed awake and in the late night/early morning I saw first videos of Russian invasion into a sovereign state.... Russia attacked its neighbour. After Russians have been telling for months, that they won't and its just...

"scare tactics" and "war mongering" of the West... Well. Russians lied in 2014, in 2022 and they will continue to do so. Treaties are just a piece of paper.

Europe has changed that day. Sadly. We had 3 years. Yet changes, are only coming slowly...

⬇️2/x
We still don't treat this seriously enough at many levels and in many states yet the threat is very real

Aggressor isn't intimidated by promises, grandiose speeches or empty words. He is intimidated by actions, determination and real industrial and military capabilities

MAD21, Maskovací Design 21 (camouflage design 21)

This camouflage should be fielded in 2026 as a new and standard camouflage pattern of 🇨🇿 Armed Forces

It will replace current Vz.95 that has been in service since 1995

Winter variant of MAD21, MAD21Z is also in development

⬇️ Image

MAD21 is a step in the multiterrain type of camouflage pattern that is darker than standard multicam.

MAD21 uses the national scheme seen with Vz.95, yet uses more complex range of coulors and shapes.

CV90CZ Mk.IV project. 🇨🇿

New informations THREAD

#CzechCV90Saga Image
1) EW suite. Both Czech and Slovak CV90 (CV9030CZ and CV9035SK) will utilize anti-drone and C-RCIED jammers from URC Systems and Jisr Institute 🇨🇿. These along with other solutions are deployed all around the vehicle, including both turret and hull.

⬇️2/x Image

2) 🇨🇿 industry. Czechia is receiving technology transfer of addon armor, so it will be another part that will be made here. Along with chassis, C4I, turrets, sights, RWS, LWS, multispectral nets, electromechanical components, cabling, simulators. That is nice.
