No.
Officers are acting in accordance with the training you’ve given them, Commissioner.
They’ve been told “GC people have warped twisted views and are motivated by hate". This was at New Scotland Yard, was applauded by your officers, and defended in court.
(Newman v Met)
It’s on a whole new level to @Glinner’s comment, yet the Met didn’t seem to find anything wrong with it at all. No armed officers turned up to carry out an arrest.
Newman v Met is the tip of the Metropolitan Police iceberg.
There is a rot in policing, whose leaders are unwilling to accept responsibility or commit to wholescale change.
They are infiltrated by activists, act for activists, and are afraid to say no to activists.
5/9
The Met police found the time to write a letter, apologising for not discovering who ‘leaked’ the TDOV comments.
The fact they are now facing a storm of exposure for unwisely jumping to the demands of activists is their fault alone. They took a side and lost impartiality.
The Commissioner’s statement 👇claims officers had no alternative to arresting Graham Linehan. That’s just not true though.
Women have faced horrendous threats, abuse and harassment from activists and are mainly brushed off with no action taken.
A side was taken.

It should be a surprise to no one, least of all Sir Mark Rowley, that his officers leap to the demands of extremists. After all, they are welcoming, paying and applauding extremists themselves.
@WomensRightsNet wrote 👇 to the Met to warn them of this danger.

DC Melanie Newman also courageously challenged the Met at a Tribunal. Because without brave people, nothing changes.
She lost, but is appealing. Details of how to support her are here 👇
Final day of the Newman v Metropolitan police tribunal.
The Met paid nearly £26k to Saba Ali, a former PA, for advisory work Oct 2022 - Feb 2025. They state they 'value' her contribution.
One of her recent, hastily deleted 'views. Do they value these opinions too? 1/6
Ali also referred to feminists advocating for single sex spaces as “banshees”, “bigots” and “morons” on social media.
Despite her obvious bias, the Met sought Ali’s advice during a gross misconduct investigation into a detective constable for alleged 'transphobia' in 2023.
2/6
The officer faced losing his job for having:
🟣 a suffragette sticker on his laptop
🟣 allegedly using male pronouns to refer to a trans woman bomber during a presentation
🟣 raising concerns about two external speakers the Met invited for LGBT+ history month.

Day 6 Newman v Metropolitan Police
The evidence of witness Superintendent Behag Fisher of the Met this morning has been astonishing.
This Supt reviewed the use of Jane Fae at an internal talk, after multiple complaints from staff about the appropriateness of this speaker.
1/4
The superintendent reviewed the use of Jane Fae at an internal talk to staff.
Despite strong complaints from staff about the appropriateness of this speaker, she still used Fae for the talk (after consulting with an Independent Advisory Group, including activist Saba Ali).
2/4
The officers’ concerns were about Fae:
➡️Minimising DV murder
➡️Defending an author who fantasised about murdering members of Girls Aloud
➡️Talking of treating @jk_rowling with formaldehyde
➡️Defending extreme pornography and how to hide it from the police

So, Newman v Metropolitan Police.
Main takes from day 4 (in no particular order).
Case involves influence of trans activists on the Metropolitan police service (MPS) our largest and arguably most iconic police force.
🧵1/
Giving evidence today, intelligence analyst Kit Moore, trans lead for the MPS LGBT+ network. Also organised the Trans Day of Visibility for March 2023.
This was subject of a @WomensRightsNet complaint to the MPS commissioner at the time.

What did we learn?
Firstly, the MPS Trans & Non Binary staff forum is a lobbying group of trans activists, who meet regularly with the Mets inclusion dept.
These activists included Eva Echo & Saba Ali. Other docs show Shea Coffey and Adi Daly Gourdialsing were in the group.

BREAKING 🔥
Newman v Metropolitan Police
‘Anti trans’ groups monitored by SO15 Counter Terrorism police at request of Trans and Non Binary staff network
Minutes disclosed of a meeting reveal groups were described by CT as ‘extremely smart’, but ‘staying within the law’.
@MailOnline @Telegraph @thetimes @GBNEWS
To be clear, by ‘monitored’ I mean that an SO15 officer had done some level of assessment and intelligence gathering on groups to come to their conclusion. I don’t know the extent of that or on whose request it was.
I’d expect the word ‘facts’ to be followed by actual facts.
That hasn’t happened in this case 👇.
Let me address this:
a. A strip search is a search EXPOSING intimate body parts. It is often done outside a police custody suite. This is NOT ‘rare’.
🧵1/10
At least 5,000 strip searches took place as a result of stop searches 23/24. That figure just covers 29 of the forces of the UK. So hardly a ‘rare’ event.
There were over 65,000 strip searches in custody 22/23. Not ‘rare’ either.
2/10
B. Strip searches are NOT performed by medical staff, but police officers.
It’s obvious to anyone who knows about searching that Stephen confuses a STRIP search here with an INTIMATE search, which is of bodily orifices (excluding the mouth).
