While America panics, Europe quietly recalibrates Covid-19 vaccine policy
ATT: @SecKennedy @HHS_Jim @RandPaul @SenBillCassidy
From Sweden to the UK to Australia, countries are narrowing Covid-19 vaccine policies without controversy. So why the panic in the US?

The medical establishment has ramped up the rhetoric against @SecKennedy over narrowing Covid-19 vaccine policy. In @nytimes, 9 former @CDCgov directors warned that his decisions mean “children risk losing access to lifesaving vaccines.”
But US policy is only bringing American practice closer to what Europe has already done.
As of Sept 1, Sweden 🇸🇪no longer recommends Covid-19 vaccination for children unless an individual medical assessment finds they are at increased risk of severe disease.
Even then, it is only available with a doctor’s prescription.
UK has also tightened eligibility as it heads into autumn, limiting Covid boosters to people over 75, nursing-home residents, and those with weakened immune systems.
Its guidance notes that “in the current era of high population immunity to Covid-19, additional Covid-19 doses provide very limited, if any, protection against infection and any subsequent onward transmission of infection.”
In May, the Australia, Dept of Health quietly updated its advice: healthy children & adolescents under 18 without medical conditions no longer need the Covid-19 vaccine.
There was no press conference, no ministerial statement, no media blitz. And most notably, no outrage from the medical establishment. blog.maryannedemasi.com/p/australia-qu…
Ex-CDC @dr_demetre intensified attacks claiming he “only sees harm coming” for America’s children as ACIP might “try to change the birth dose,” of Hep B vaccine, arguing that public health only gets “one bite of that apple” to vaccinate newborns.
But several advanced European programs already DO NOT give a universal Hep B shot on Day 1.
The way forward is not to alarm Americans with talk of bans or lost access to vaccines. It is to deliver risk-based, evidence-driven advice - as peer nations already do - and to be candid about uncertainty.
💥EXCLUSIVE: Retsef Levi hits back after attacks on his leadership from departing CDC officials
Several top CDC officials quit in protest, denouncing @RetsefL’s leadership of the Covid vaccine work group. Now, in an exclusive interview, Levi reveals what really happened behind closed doors.
@HHS_Jim @SecKennedy @RWMaloneMD
@TheChiefNerd
Dr Demetre Daskalakis, a top official who abruptly resigned from the CDC, posted his resignation letter on @X, now viewed more than 19 million times, declaring his position at the agency “untenable.”
He pointed to the new Terms of Reference for ACIP’s Covid vaccine work group, chaired by Levi, whom he attacked as a figure of “dubious intent and more dubious scientific rigor” who had “ignored all feedback from career staff at CDC.” blog.maryannedemasi.com/p/breaking-aci… @dr_demetre
What most people don’t know is that in the weeks leading up to his resignation, @dr_demetre had been working with Levi and other members of ACIP, locked in a tense tug-of-war over how broad the work group’s remit should be.
As Chair, @RetsefL pushed for a wide lens that would follow the evidence wherever it led. Daskalakis, on the other hand, pressed to narrow the scope of the review, and sought to populate the group with CDC loyalists intent on preserving the status quo.
Senior CDC officials, opposed to Levi’s broader approach, were reluctant to sign off on the Terms of Reference.
💥New investigation reveals @CDCgov inflated Covid threat level in kids as resignations rock the agency
After withholding key safety data on RSV antibodies, the nation’s top health agency is once again under fire — this time for presenting Covid data in ways that inflate the risk for children.

Among the recent CDC resignations, @dr_demetre, former head of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, accused the new HHS leadership of “unskilled manipulation of data to achieve a political end rather than the good of the American people.”
But the hypocrisy is striking.
Daskalakis was one of the very officials responsible for liaising with ACIP while his own agency was withholding critical safety data on seizures in babies given Sanofi’s RSV monoclonal antibody, clesrovimab.
Following that investigation, rumblings began within the CDC itself, as sources close to the situation said that many ACIP members were “troubled” by my revelations.
ACIP member @RWMaloneMD broke ranks, warning that advisers had been given too little time to interrogate the evidence and had simply trusted the CDC’s word.
“That trust in the data presented now appears to have been ill-advised,” Malone stated. “Going forward … I will no longer be able to trust that what is presented in CDC summaries to the ACIP is transparent, accurate, and unbiased.”
💥BREAKING: ACIP launches sweeping Covid-19 vaccine review under Retsef Levi
Billions of Covid vaccine doses were rolled out on assurances they were safe and effective. Now, ACIP’s new Covid immunisation working group is asking the questions regulators never did. 👇👇
MIT professor @RetsefL has been an outspoken voice on the @CDCgov's vaccine advisory committee (ACIP) since @SecKennedy's dramatic overhaul in June.
Levi has pressed CDC officials on uncomfortable questions, challenging the narrow surveillance windows used to track harms and insisting that delayed effects could not simply be ruled out.
He also raised concerns about the safety of RSV monoclonal antibodies after clinical trials showed a clear imbalance in infant deaths.
Now, @RetsefL has been appointed chair of the @CDCgov's new Covid-19 vaccine working group, and with today’s release of its Terms of Reference, the scale of his task has come into sharp focus.
Under the guidance of Levi and his colleagues, the ACIP working group now has a mandate unlike anything the committee has ever undertaken.
For the first time, federal advisers will investigate the unresolved issues that have dogged the vaccines since their rushed rollout in late 2020.
❌RETRACTED: How a peer-reviewed study was killed by a “fact check”
When a medical journal starts outsourcing its editorial judgement to media fact-checkers, the entire premise of peer review collapses.

In April 2024, a peer-reviewed study by Japanese researchers was published in @CureusMedical.
The study, led by Dr Miki Gibo, a primary care physician at the Matsubara Clinic in Kochi, Japan, found that in 2022 there was a statistically significant rise in deaths from certain cancers coinciding with the rollout of Covid-19 mRNA injections.
They made no claim of causation — only correlations — and outlined several possible explanations, including Covid-19 vaccination, lockdowns, and reduced cancer care.
By June, the study had been retracted--not because of a scientific rebuttal but by a @Reuters “fact check.”
In an internal email dated June 12, 2024, Cureus Director of Publishing Graham Parker-Finger wrote to the study authors:
“Reuters published a fact check of this article that details several concerns regarding the contents. As a result, Cureus plans to conduct a detailed post-publication editorial review to examine these concerns…”

Dr Jesper Mehlsen, a Danish physician and former Merck trial investigator, alerted the company to signs of autonomic dysfunction following vaccination.
According to Mehlsen, those warnings were “discarded.”
Mehlsen’s clinic assessed 839 referred patients and conducted a comprehensive investigation, with the findings published in a 2022 peer-reviewed study in the Journal of Autoimmunity.
His conclusion: “Girls and young women with probable side effects to HPV-vaccination have symptoms and biological markers compatible with an autoimmune disease.” sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
🔥Exposing the rot: Journal ignores missing data on Covid vaccine safety in pregnancy
The study authors quietly excluded 22 vaccinated women from their final analysis, and the outcomes of those pregnancies were never disclosed. If included, the data could have dramatically altered the study’s conclusions.

@RetsefL @Jikkyleaks
The 2022 study was widely used to reassure the public about the safety of Covid-19 vaccination during pregnancy.
It reported no increased risk of stillbirth or preterm birth among women who received Covid-19 mRNA vaccines during pregnancy compared to those who remained unvaccinated--BUT IT EXCLUDED 22 WOMEN WHO'D BEEN VACCINATED. …pregnancychildbirth.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11…
MIT professor @RetsefL & paediatrician Efrat Schurr published a critique of the study highlighting methodological flaws and asked for the missing data -- but the authors refused to hand it over. …pregnancychildbirth.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11…
