Often Type 2 Diabetics are told that they will be on medications the rest of their life.
They are also told to “change their diet”, to help manage their blood sugars.
They are practically never told that they can reverse their diabetes.
Which they can.
THREAD
When a patient is diagnosed as pre-diabetic or a Type 2 Diabetic (T2D), besides given the general “you need to improve your diet”, they are only given 1 treatment option: medications
The medications help manage their condition & try to regulate their blood sugars.
Notice I wrote “manage” their condition.
Not treat the root cause.
Not reverse.
Not cure.
Because the medications are not designed for any of these.
Which is exactly why the typical provider tells the patients they will be on medications the rest of their life.
Are the doctors “evil” and trying to keep people on meds and not actually cure them?
No, I don’t believe so.
I’ve just observed that the providers never get trained on anything other than medications or injections for treating pre-diabetes and T2D.
So, guess what?
If all you have is a hammer and mallet (pills & injections) in your “tool box” of treatments, everything tends to look like a nail.
But what if we need to saw a board in half at a specific angle?
Do we still use those hammers and mallets?
Obviously, no. That would be asinine.
But yet, that is essentially what we do with traditional medical treatments to address pre-diabetes and Type 2 Diabetes.
And it is exactly why we’ve seen exponential increase in rates of both diseases over the last 3-4 decades.
It’s not like individuals find out they have it, we effectively treat and cure it, and they drop off the list of stats.
No, we “manage” their condition.
Never actually curing them.
So, we just add more and more people to the “list” of those who have pre-diabetes and Type 2 diabetes….and rates keep climbing year over year.

We are only focused on regulating blood sugar.
Not fixing the root cause of the conditions: insulin resistance
Addressing insulin resistance takes a completely different set of “tools” than pills and injections to treat/address.
Look at the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and what they recommend.
Here’s a link where you can see for yourself, but I will highlight below why their recommendations don’t allow for a “cure”.
“Food fuels the body and is a key part of diabetes management. However, no matter what eating plan you follow, there are some basic guidelines [below] that apply across the board.”
Notice again, they say “management” and not “cure” or “reverse”.
I think there is a reason for that. You can follow the money and find out why. 😉
Going on, they recommend...
“What all healthy eating plans have in common:
•Non-starchy vegetables as a foundation for the plate
•Lean proteins & plant-based sources of protein
•Quality carbohydrates like starchy vegetables, fruits, whole grains, & low-fat milk
•Less added sugar
•Healthy fats
•Less processed sugar
•Water or zero-calorie beverages”
Ok, let me now breakdown 6 major issues with their recommendations if you want to actually reverse your insulin resistance (the root cause).
1) “Lean proteins & plant-based sources of protein”
You don’t need only lean meats. In fact, the animal fats will help your cells function better and become less insulin resistant.
Plant-based proteins miss out on essential amino acids…which your body needs to repair & heal.
Starchy vegetables are definitely foods T2D’s want to avoid or vastly limit. Plus, the ADA contradicts itself in their first bullet point.
Not all fruits are the same- focus on low-glycemic fruits and limit the amounts.
Whole grains are practically no better metabolically than refined grains for blood sugars and insulin. Keep eating them if you want to stay insulin resistant.😉
Low-fat milk…again, your body and cells will perform better with animal fats. Yes, saturated fats too. Utilize whole milk, not low-fat or no-fat milk.
3) “Less added sugar”
How about no added refined sugar. It’s detrimental to Type 2 Diabetics.
Instead, use:
•Stevia
•Monk Fruit
•Allulose
•Erythritol
•Xylitol
4) “Healthy fats”
They don’t clarify here, but elsewhere on their website they promote the use of the following oils:
All of these oils are HORRIBLE for the cellular function of Type 2 Diabetics. If you want to stay a T2D and not fix your insulin resistance, keep consuming the above oils 😉
5) “Less processed sugar”
It’s not less, you’ll need to have none for a time period while you are working on reversing your insulin resistance.
See #3 above for alternative sweeteners
6) “Water or zero-calorie beverages”
Zero calorie beverages often refer to “sugar free” or “diet” drinks.
What most don’t realize is the artificial sweeteners used in these drinks will spike insulin…which will ultimately lead to more insulin resistance.
Again, the exact opposite of what a T2D patient needs!
Find drinks that use ONLY the sweeteners listed above in #3.
When I work with patients, I take a significantly different approach than what the ADA recommends.
Is it because I like to go against the grain & be contradictory?
No.
It’s because I like measurable results and reversal of conditions.
My patients:
•Lower their blood sugar naturally
•Lower their A1c
•Improve their fasting insulin levels
•Lower their meds
•Eventually get off their meds
•And dare I say, “cure” their condition
And beyond addressing the T2D, there are bigger issues at stake for these individuals.
Most don’t realize it, but Type 2 Diabetes is the #1 cause for the following in America:
•Kidney Failure
•Blindness
•Amputations
Most think "well, it won't be me”, but the reality is the stats tell a different story.
And I recently had a patient who was on the road to becoming one of those stats if she didn’t start addressing the root cause of insulin resistance.
Tomorrow in my free newsletter, I’m going to cover how my patient Melissa went from an A1c of 14.0… (yes, 14.0!)… down to a 6.1 in just over 90 days.
