When you hear trans activists say that Kirk spread hate and advocated violence toward trans people, remember how he actually spoke to a trans-identified female:

--Encouraged her to exercise caution before putting herself on steroids

--"I actually want to see you be comfortable in how you were born. I know you might not feel that way, but I think that is something you can achieve."

-- "You don't have to wage war on your body. You can learn to love your body."

Ask yourself: are these, in fact, messages of hate and violence?

And evaluate those telling you that they are accordingly.

Christians who are invested in Old Testament doctrine can have a rhetorically quite severe side, but it typically (not always) coexists with a, well, Christian side that valorizes love, compassion, grace, and forgiveness (sometimes to a fault) and thus makes hateful stereotypes of them difficult to sustain.

You have to work hard to know nothing and avoid any contact to keep them intact.

Now, look, Kirk also said some much more inflammatory things about trans-identified people.

But what he says here is what all skeptics of pediatric gender medicine have always said, which is what the evidence has always supported, which is what common sense and humanity have always dictated, because it has always been true -- decent, humane, compassionate, and correct statements about what is best for a child struggling with their identity.

And the institutions that say it and don't say anything more inflammatory than just, while supplementing it with rigorous evaluation of the evidence proving the claims to be true, like SEGM, have been been branded "hate groups" for saying it by the SPLC and GLAAD.
