@rrp313 @NiohBerg So much to unpack, Randy, but let's focus on the key point. During the last few days, the Left said what it said, and it tipped its hand. There is no such thing as un-tipping your hand. News about the background of the shooter will not erase our memories of the last few days.
@rrp313 @NiohBerg The Left still came out and, as far as I can tell, spoke with one voice as it straw manned the recently murdered Charlie Kirk, and tried to make the case that he deserved to die for being opposed to gun control.
@rrp313 @NiohBerg Charlie Kirk, who I've heard described as a moderate's moderate, was remembered by the Left in celebration, as it danced on his grave, leaving us all with a clear message: given sufficient fame, that could have been any of us.
@rrp313 @NiohBerg Prior to the murder, if somebody had asked me about movements like #CalExit, I would (and in fact did) say things about the Blue areas going their way as the Red areas choose their own path, and the two parting in peace.
I now feel foolish for having said that.
@rrp313 @NiohBerg Your faction has made it abundantly clear that you wish harm on everybody who disagrees with it about anything. This isn't even Far Right vs Far Left. This is Far Left vs. everybody else.
@rrp313 @NiohBerg How are the rest of us to live in peace with those who would see us destroyed, just for disagreeing with them?
You've made your meaning clear. There will be no amicable divorce. The rest of us must prepare for war, because at some point, you guys will bring it to us.

@yo101jimmy101 @RoofKorean7 "It shouldn’t though! Does anyone think Kirk would want bloodshed?"
Kirk wasn't the only one capable of bleeding, James. What Kirk would have wanted is not our only concern. The Left's history of engaging in political violence and gloating about it is well established.
@yo101jimmy101 @RoofKorean7 You act as if this man's shooting were an isolated incident. It isn't, not even close.
I've lost track of how many death threats I got during the Covid drama, simply because I wouldn't support the pseudoscience in fashion at the moment. To this day, I don't dare do a face reveal
@yo101jimmy101 @RoofKorean7 I'm hardly alone in this. When we have to lay low and stay hidden just to stay alive, that's not freedom, but that has been the norm, for years.
@DarthGrok @RoofKorean7 No, Darth, I'm not a bot. I'm just somebody who, unlike you, lives in the real world.
@DarthGrok @RoofKorean7 "You seem like a bot that wants to stir the pot."
Translation: I didn't validate your personal brand of dogmatism.
"Get help if you are a person."
Look who's talking. The guy who thinks that one can have a philosophical discussion with a violent thug.
@DarthGrok @RoofKorean7 The only thing that you brought to the discussion was a collection of platitudes, which you tried to splice together in order to come up with a plan to deal with a faction long given to violence.
@DarthGrok @RoofKorean7 "Well, that isn't what Charlie would have wanted."
Charlie ended up dead. If you can't see why that suggests the need for a change in plans, then you need to get back on your meds.
@DarthGrok @RoofKorean7 "We need more thoughtful civil discourse;"
You're never going to get that out of a violent, rent-seeking faction. BLM's violence didn't just show up in the last few days.
@DarthGrok @RoofKorean7 It has been a continuing theme for years, in a way that has surprised nobody who has ever lived in a major America city, aside from some profoundly disturbed people.
@readswithravi Most definitely yes. E-books have their users, but the idea that they were going to make paper books go the way of the old papyrus scrolls, I think, will prove to be one of those passing fads that so many people thought would be the wave of the future.
@readswithravi Ironically, perhaps, the existence of the Internet will be one of the reasons for this. The days when everybody had to be physically present in the same room to work together are fading away.
@readswithravi Some stubborn employers might not want to let go of the old way of doing things, but they'll only be putting themselves at a strong disadvantage by doing so. City office space is expensive and so are city apartments.
@TurkeyToads00 @EvelinaHahne We were talking about Jazz, not R & B. The two both have their roots in the same early bands in New Orleans, but they went their separate ways long before any of us were born. This is jazz.
^
@TurkeyToads00 @EvelinaHahne This is R & B.
Not at all the same thing, and these are not recent pieces. "Champagne and Reefer" was released on January 1, 1981 and "Round Midnight" on March 4, 1957. Already, even back then, the difference was striking.
@TurkeyToads00 @EvelinaHahne The only reason I even know that there's a historical link between the two genres is because when I was little, I read part of the autobiography of an early jazz musician who explained the connection between the two. It was assigned reading.
@amandalouise416 That's one of the best law schools in the country, so she's not just a real lawyer, but probably a superb one.
She's just a horrible, underhanded human being.
@amandalouise416 "She blocked me a LONG time ago so she is doing this where I cant see her post nor respond."
You CAN see it, now. Elon had the system recoded, so now one can view the tweets of the people who have one blocked, unless they've protected their tweets and made their accounts private
