While I agree with many of his points, I approach these events from the opposite side as Mead. He is a globalist & elitist who mourns the rise of the populists. I'm a populist who wants globalism ended & the elites replaced.

Even though we are seeing this through quite different eyes, we're still seeing the same events - and they are likely to dominate the rest of our lives.
The post-WWII consensus is ending - fast. The corrupt elites of the West have been grossly incompetent.
