To honor Charlie Kirk, a thread on his words about Jan 6. Let us cherish and remember them - which is easy since 41 of his sentences are "I'm invoking my Fifth Amendment right not to testify". That is, Kirk thought his words could be used in a criminal prosecution. 1/

In response to the J6C's subpoena, Charlie Kirk handed over thousands of pages of Turning Point messages about the $1M+ they spent on the Jan 6 rallies and buses to bring the mob to DC ...but Kirk withheld all his personal text messages. He took the 5th when asked about them. 3/

Some of Charlie's J6 texts are known from other people. Fundraiser Caroline Wren turned over messages about the money for the rallies: Kirk met with the donor, accepted the $, wrote the checks. But he took the 5th when asked about it - wouldn't even admit he knew Wren. 4/

We know from the Turning Point emails that they used Telegram (a Russian app, btw) to coordinate the buses sent to DC, but Charlie turned over no Telegram messages. He took the 5th when asked about them. 5/

Charlie Kirk was one of the first people tapped to speak at the Jan 6 rally, just two days after the permit application. President Trump wanted him! But by Dec. 29, Kirk had refused; he took the 5th when asked why. We can guess: he knew it would be violent, and wanted out. 6/

Kirk didn't just duck out of speaking on Jan 6, he stayed away from DC entirely. That meant he had to resign from Trump's "1776 Commission", whose only meeting was Jan 5. Their goal was to make US education 'patriotic' - a key Kirk theme. He must have really wanted out. 7/

Charlie Kirk's deposition is short, since he refused to answer even basic questions like how old was he, did he run Turning Point, had he gone to college? His invoking the 5th means concern over criminal prosecution. Let's ask: why would Charlie fear prosecution over Jan 6? 8/
