🧵On Sunday, the @nytimes reported "some former generals worry" about Trump "expanding the National Guard's role" in helping to address crime in U.S. cities.
The article says: "All of them served for decades under both Democratic and Republican administrations."
That may be true, but let's take a look at who they are...
1. Retired Brigadier General Paul “Greg” Smith
2. Retired Major General William Enyart
3. Retired Major General Randy E. Manner
4. Retired Brigadier General David L. McGinnis
And lastly:
5. Lieutenant General Russel L. Honoré
So here we have five retired generals who are all Democrats or longtime anti-Trumpers, with four of five of them signing a letter in support of Biden in 2020.
DONE!! It wasn’t so bad. Cutting the head off was probably the worst part. The guts were quite compact and easy to get out! I thought it’d be a huge mess but it wasn’t.
DOD identifies the three soldiers killed in Jordan on Sunday:
Heartbreaking.
Army Spc. Kennedy Ladin Sanders’s mother wrote on Facebook: “I just can’t believe I’ll never be able to hug and kiss my baby again. Life is so unfair. I just want my baby.”
Army Spc. Breonna Moffett’s mother wrote:
“This is one of the saddest days of my life. With a heavy heart I have to say that my Angel my first born has going on to be with GOD today. The pain will never go away and my life is forever changed. I will never get to cook your favorite food, we will never get to talk on the phone and I will never see you walk through my front door again. Breonna [was] killed this morning. Just know that a piece of my heart and soul will always be missing. Love you Baby Girl. Rest Easy. Always will be my first born. 💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔.”
Deputy DOD Press Secretary Sabrina Singh said just now the DOD is tracking 80 “non-serious” injuries from Iran-backed militia attacks against US troops in Iraq and Syria since October 17.
Singh clarifies this doesn’t include the recent attack in Jordan. Note that at least 19 of those injuries were traumatic brain injuries.
Reminder that in 2020 when Trump said the same injuries were not significant, there were no shortage of pieces on how Trump was dismissive of the injuries. 🙄🙄🙄🙄
PSA: Around the holidays, it’s easy to get scammed. People are busy & more willing to open their wallets.
I thought I was talking to the mother of a Marine I know, but when the person asked for money, I double-checked the details of the account. Not a legit account. Be careful.
I had just liked a photo with the mother tagged (with her real account), so when the scammer started chatting with me, I just assumed she saw my “like” and wanted to chat. Very sneaky. Same profile pic and similar user name. Very easy to get fooled this way.
