DONE!! It wasn’t so bad. Cutting the head off was probably the worst part. The guts were quite compact and easy to get out! I thought it’d be a huge mess but it wasn’t. In retrospect that was no need to cut the head off but that’s what my husband told me to do. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Deputy DOD Press Secretary Sabrina Singh said just now the DOD is tracking 80 “non-serious” injuries from Iran-backed militia attacks against US troops in Iraq and Syria since October 17. Singh clarifies this doesn’t include the recent attack in Jordan. Note that at least 19 of those injuries were traumatic brain injuries.

Reminder that in 2020 when Trump said the same injuries were not significant, there were no shortage of pieces on how Trump was dismissive of the injuries. 🙄🙄🙄🙄

PSA: Around the holidays, it’s easy to get scammed. People are busy & more willing to open their wallets.

I thought I was talking to the mother of a Marine I know, but when the person asked for money, I double-checked the details of the account. Not a legit account. Be careful. Image I had just liked a photo with the mother tagged (with her real account), so when the scammer started chatting with me, I just assumed she saw my “like” and wanted to chat. Very sneaky. Same profile pic and similar user name. Very easy to get fooled this way.

Listening to the Psaki briefing and I hear no accepting of responsibility. At one point early on, she said this was the worse thing the administration has experienced — as if this was something that happened to them, not something they caused. If I were a White House correspondent, I would ask if Biden still had confidence in his military leaders — seeing as how they gave him their best military advice on Bagram and that turned out to be a mistake that created a huge bottleneck, cluster, and terrorist magnet at Kabul.

What’s sad is that Afghans and US vets/groups are getting more & more desperate as we get closer to the August 31st deadline — and there’s no clarity on what’s going on, what gates are open, closed, who can get through, who can’t. The next few days will be wrenching. #Afghanistan Hearing no Afghan SIVs — the ones who helped us during the war — can’t get through to the Kabul airport anymore. There’s talk of threats at the airport…it’s all confusion. Yet at the briefings we’re told that things are being worked out with the Taliban.
