CEO of Swiss Re US, the world’s largest writer of mortality risk, says excess mortality due to COVID is expected to remain elevated at 2% until 2030 based on the Society of Actuaries data, and the impacts of LongCOVID are now affecting public health and the insurance industry. Swiss RE's US Ceo discusses excess mortality, long COVID and GLP-1 drugs Mortality has become a topic of great importance in the life insurance industry following the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Death rates have not rebounded quite as researchers expected in the years since. In addition to COVID, increased deaths from heart disease, diabetes, chronic liver disease/cirrhosis, along with drug overdoses contributed to excess mortality. Swiss Re is among the leading industry researchers of mortality, with annual studies into various aspects.

Anecdotally, the LongCOVID patients who seem to be making the most gains or close to recovery, are the ones taking antivirals, mAbs and maybe even Ivig.

I’ve been reluctant to discuss my antiviral trial because I wanted to give it time and not get my or anyone else’s hopes’ up.
But with that being said, I figured I’d share a little in that we decided to continue on my 4th month and that I’ll stay on this combo indefinitely.

Unfortunately, since we don’t have any validated, available biomarkers or a viral load test, there aren’t any ways to measure…
And I’ve been pretty consistent in saying that I don’t feel one specific thing, but I have definitely reported to my PCP that I’ve been much more normal in recent weeks, so I took a look at something else.

I wear an Iwatch and a wearable to monitor everything and here is what..

Moroccan researchers landmark study tracking SARS2 mutations through 2021-2024, found Omicron carries up to 89 mutations helping adapt to escape immune response, more transmissible, with nearly 8 in 10 patients developing significant symptoms particularly in the 20-40 age group. Moroccan Scientists Map COVID-19 Mutations in Breakthrough Study The Moroccan team analyzed 235 patient samples, providing a precise view of how the virus changed over time within the country. Firdaous NaimbyFirdaous Naim Aug, 22, 2025 Morocco tour packages
“This shows how remarkably the virus adapts to escape immune defenses.”

“Although Delta was more likely to cause severe illness, Omicron proved more transmissible.”
moroccoworldnews.com/2025/08/252140…
The important thing to remember, and likely what most see anyway, is that despite the authors saying the virus doesn’t respect borders, this only happened in Morocco/Africa, because us Americans have special immune systems and blood vessels built to withstand repeat infections.
