#SupremeCourt hears the issue of bann on fire crackers in Delhi NCR

CJI: in Diwali some people do puja in morning and fire crackers there too

SG: narayak chaturdashi in Diwali

SG submits the rules for manufacturing green fire crackers as approved by PESO

SG submits that manufacturers shall mention the quantity and details of green crackers

SG submits that those fire cracker making sites in violation of the rules will be immediately seized

SG submits that PESO and NEERI will periodically check the making of the crackers and ensuring that only approved green fire formulations are sold in the market

SG : these rules will be applied for Diwali, Christmas and Gurupurab, people right to celebrate will also be balanced

Another counsel submitted that the recent orders have overlooked that majority of the pollution in Delhibis due to stubble burning and industrial pollution rather than fire crackers

Counsel: huge amounts have been spent in setting up formulations for the green crackers and industries

CJI: has the indexed from 2018 to 2024 for pollution gone down? Whether the AQI of 2018 was much less as compared to AQI of 2024

SG: remained more or less the same except the Covid Period it came down

SG: I would respectfully urge the timing - when we were children at least 1 hour would go convincing the parents to come out as they would not allow us to do it alone- there should not be any restrictions on the timing at least for few days

Parameshwar : nothing but green crackers will be permitted the court said in 2017

Another Counsel submits that how will it be ensure how the formulation is accurate in the crackers

Parameshwar: our suggestion is that NEERI can check the formulations

CJI: why should only few districts there be ban, there should be ban in whole of Haryana

SG: pls do not accept the suggestions qua the timing its a matter of only few days

SG: let the children celebrate atleast for two days, they can contribute to pollution
