I collected $2.5M in 4 days by calling up my network and letting them know about my launch.

These are my 10 boring rules to networking that beat what everyone else tells you 🧵
RULE #1: BECOME WORTH KNOWING FIRST

Don't try to meet successful people before you've built something impressive.

If you're jumping from idea to idea with nothing to show, you look like someone who won't implement advice.

Build a track record first.
RULE #2: GIVE BEFORE YOU ASK (FOR YEARS)

I got really good at Facebook marketing when other marketers weren't.

Instead of asking for help, I gave away courses, taught them what I knew, and promoted their launches.

For 6 years, I asked for nothing.
RULE #3: WIN COMPETITIONS TO BUILD RELATIONSHIPS

When Lewis Howes ran an affiliate contest in 2012, I promoted so hard that I might have lost money.

But I won the competition, got a personal call from him, and suddenly had relationships with every major player.
RULE #4: STOP TRYING TO "NETWORK"

Don't let people smell that you want something.

Just be cool, be yourself, and help them however you can.

Most networking is expensive small talk that gets you nowhere.
RULE #5: YOU NEED 5, NOT 5,000

You don't need 5,000 phone numbers.

You need 5 real relationships with people who would help you move a body.

Quality beats quantity every single time.
RULE #6: ASK YOURSELF THE HARD QUESTIONS

• Do I have a track record of execution?
• Can I show tangible results from my work?
• Would I invest time in helping someone like me?

If no, go build something first.
RULE #7: MAKE IT STUPID EASY FOR THEM

For my $2.5M launch in 2016, I texted 50 industry leaders:

"Hey, do you know anyone who might want to share this?"

They all said, "Yeah, me."

This worked because I'd helped them for 6 years first.
RULE #8: BE GENUINELY HELPFUL (NOT TRANSACTIONAL)

I promoted other people's launches, taught them Facebook marketing, and gave away my courses.

Never once thinking "what's in this for me?"

The payoff came years later, not days.
RULE #9: DISCIPLINE ATTRACTS SUCCESS

Successful people help people who execute.

If you have no discipline and jump between ideas, you look like a bad investment of their time.

Show them you're someone worth knowing.
RULE #10: RELATIONSHIP BUILDING IS NATURAL WHEN YOU'RE IMPRESSIVE

Build something impressive first, THEN relationship building becomes natural instead of forced.

The problem isn't that you don't know the right people.

It's that the right people don't need to know you yet.
Most founders overcomplicate networking.

Follow these 10 rules for 6 months. You'll build real relationships that actually move your business forward.

If I had to build a digital product from $0 to $1M in 180 days, this would be my exact roadmap 🧵 Image
STEP 1: PICK YOUR NICHE FOR YOUR DIGITAL PRODUCT

Choose something you're passionate about so you have fun getting started.

Moms, golfers, business owners, people trying to lose weight - almost every market can make 6+ figures annually.
STEP 2: IDENTIFY ONE SPECIFIC PROBLEM

Since you're passionate about this niche, you already know what they struggle with.

Write down everything. Plug it into AI and ask what other problems exist.

Pick ONE specific problem to solve first.
