Long before Newton, Copernicus, or Galileo - there was Acharya Aryabhata, the man who turned the cosmic rhythm into mathematics.
Let’s unfold the brilliance of India’s first astronomer-scientist👇

1️⃣ Born in 476 CE, Acharya Aryabhata was a revolutionary mind from Ancient India
At a time when the world was shrouded in myth,
he saw the cosmos as a grand mathematical design and expressed it through pure logic and numbers.

2️⃣ His magnum opus, Aryabhatiya,
written in Sanskrit, compressed the universe into just 121 verses.
Yet, those verses contained knowledge that shaped:
📜 Astronomy
📜 Mathematics
📜 Physics
📜 Time Measurement
A true masterpiece of human intellect.

3️⃣ Aryabhata didn’t work in isolation.
He built upon the eternal Vedic lineage of knowledge -
From Surya Siddhanta (revealed by Lord Surya himself) to the Sulbha Sutras and lost Arya Siddhanta,
he inherited and expanded - the cosmic science of Bharat.

➡ Advanced Mathematics for Astrophysical Calculations
He explained:
• Arithmetic & Geometric Progressions
• Algebra
• Quadratic & Indeterminate Equations
• Square & Cube Roots
Yes - centuries before Europe even knew Algebra!

7️⃣ He gave the value of π (Pi) as 3.1416
- accurate to 4 decimal places -
at a time when the rest of the world didn’t even know the circle’s mystery.

He also developed Trigonometric functions - Sine (Jya) & Cosine (Kojya).

8️⃣ Kalakriyapada
➡ Planetary motions, Time Cycles & Yearly Measurements
He calculated:
• Rotation of Earth on its own axis
• Duration of Day & Night
• Planetary Periods
• The concept of Leap Years
Centuries before modern astronomy!

9️⃣ Golapada
➡ Spherical Astronomy & Celestial Calculations
He revealed:
• Motions of Planets
• Trigonometric Principles
• Ecliptic Path & Zodiac Motions
• Geospatial Astronomy
He even suggested Earth is spherical & rotates on its axis!

🔟 And yes - Aryabhata was the first to define Zero (0) in mathematics.
Not just as a placeholder - but as a concept of nothingness that holds the infinite within it.
A philosophical and mathematical marvel.

1️⃣1️⃣ He also introduced the place value system & decimal notations - the very system your smartphone and modern computing still use today.

Think about it - the digital world exists because Aryabhata defined “0 to 9”.

• Cryptography using Sanskrit Aksharas
• Speed = Distance/Time (Classical Mechanics)
• Eclipses explained scientifically - not mythically.

He merged physics with spirituality seamlessly.

Brahmagupta, Bhaskara, Varahamihira, and even Islamic & European scholars - built upon Aryabhata’s foundations.
