🚨🚨The president appears to be saying he will NOT abide by the court order to release SNAP benefits even though the WH said they would partially release them Image
an hour ago Trump's own Ag Sec was explaining that they'd given guidance to states about how to administer SNAP benefits from the emergency fund. Now Trump is saying he won't pay those benefits until the government is reopened

Trump is both defying a court order and taking ownership of the ending of food benefits for needy people all during a shutdown fight that polls show him losing.
and doing this just days after his Great Gatsby party!

As the dust settles, it's clear that Vought's RIFs amount to a Friday night massacre at the CDC. Lots of confusion as to the total number gone. But several sources tell me top officials and many staff at the center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion and the center for immunization and respiratory diseases are OUT. Am told the Ebola response team has been hit hard too.

CDC staff and alums gathered outside HQ this afternoon to salute those top four officials who resigned in protest yesterday. the crowd looks fairly massive, per a pic sent to me Image
Debra Houry, speaking now, said the four who resigned (her included) had been talking about whether they would need to do so for months. They agreed to do it together. "we need congress to intervene," she stresses.
she warns there will be "many others" who lose or leave their jobs at the CDC soon.

To being: What is Democratic Victory? It’s one of a series of PACs secretly run by Dem operatives and infamous for unscrupulous methods. It’s among those spamming folks in the recent Kamala Harris fundraising boomlet, prompting the campaign to warn donors against giving to it.
What makes the group controversial is not just how it raises money but how it SPENDS it. Little goes to candidates. A lot goes towards the other businesses its officers operate—and to supporting their lavish travel habits, too.

THREAD: If you're like me, you've probably been receiving a barrage of text messages this past week from random, generic sounding groups like Democratic Victory and Democratic Power that say they're raising money for Harris.
These are scam-ish PACs. They spend a small portion of the money they raise on the causes they claim to support and a lot on.... raising more money, often by enlisting firms they're tied to.
