I don’t usually comment on stocks, because there are enough accounts out there on the topic far dedicated than me.
However, I do understand SEO and web traffic.
The information that is circulating around $HIMS is just plain wrong and lacks context.
A short 🧵
Ahrefs is by far the most reliable tool when it comes to estimating organic traffic, arguably the highest-value traffic in the industry.
We previously reviewed SimilarWeb as a tool to assess its reliability and output. SimilarWeb, I would argue, is the main tool used by stock analysts.
The SEO traffic was WAY off. The referral traffic. WAY off.
The tool said we were linking to competitors and sending them thousands of visitors per month from our website. I did a really deep dive. Not the case. No clue where they got that data from.
Now, I’m seeing accounts say that Hims’ traffic is in the gutters.
It’s just not what I’m seeing – and at the very least, lacking context.
Here’s their organic traffic
This company just beat estimates on their revenue after everyone said they wouldn’t, from CC data.
On top of that, Hims’ CFO (and others? Unsure) said they’re easing on the ED growth, because they’re customers that are hard to keep.
So Hims beat on overall revenue DESPITE saying they’re EASING on a historic vertical, AND SEO traffic looks strong.
(mind you, definitely still things I would change if I were them. Hey, @AndrewDudum , DM is open…)
However, to all the stock accounts saying Hims’ traffic is weak… Where is it showing in the financials?
If you’re seeing any weakness in the traffic, that’s by design… From easing on verticals they’re DELIBERATELY lessening their focus on. So, stock accounts… Please consider context and evaluate the accuracy of your data sources.

✅What they do well
✅What they really should improve
thread 🧵
... Again, yes. I don't know for sure that this is their actual revenue, but I've found that assuming 1/5 of their Ahrefs traffic value is a fair revenue guess.
We can keep having this discussion with all case studies.
Also, I realize that this case is late! Let's move on.
In previous cases, I've looked at sites that did really well. They would:
✅ Avoid index bloat
✅ Have custom imagery
✅ Almost write personal letters to G to get special treatment.
It's about time we look at what you can get away with and still win!
