Biafra was declared by the Igbo people of SE Nigeria because of the realization that in Muslim-dominated Nigeria, Igbo Christian (and some Jewish) Nigerians would never be equal citizens and would always be subject to violence, coercion, and discrimination.

But back in the late 1960s to 1971, the powers that be in the world—particularly the UK, which was involved in Nigerian oil that was primarily pumped from SE Nigeria—decided that Nigeria should not be partitioned,

that Nigerian “territorial integrity” was more important than worrying about one ethnic group’s freedom from fear and persecution. The Western world backed the central government of Nigeria, and Biafra was beaten down and ceased to be.

Now, 60 years later, we hear of Muslim terrorists kidnapping, raping, and murdering non-Muslims in Nigeria, with the Nigerian government being passive.

Think about it. What if the West had supported an independent Biafra in 1968?

What if the interests of free Biafrans—not to be murdered, forced to convert, raped, beaten, and persecuted—had meant more than BP oil revenues?

Note that territorial integrity did not mean much to Europeans when it came to Kosovo,

or when it comes to demonstrating for Hamas, does it? It just becomes important when money is more important than people and freedom.

Frankly, the West and the UN do not have a great record of caring about real justice."
