Jeffrey Epstein was a cutout who replaced Nikolai Kruchina, Robert Maxwell, and Leonid Veselovsky in Kryuchkov's $50bn+ KGB money laundering operation.

Kruchina got pushed out a window, Maxwell fell off his yacht, and Veselovsky went on to help Trump finance building projects.
This is, it seems, where Epstein got his money.
The failed August 1991 coup was the tipping point that led to Kruchina and Maxwell's deaths. This is the reason Epstein and Maxwell converged in 1991, and why it is such a pivotal year. It was the coup. Epstein was already running his own KGB thing prior, however, it seems.
Kruchina died quickly, in late August 1991. Robert Maxwell died a few months later on November 5, 1991.

All public reporting suggests Ghislaine and Epstein first met in summer 1991, but in her testimony in July 2025, she suggested she became much closer to him after her father's death that November.

This is the story Putin and Trump don't want you to know. This is why there is so much noise and counterspin: "sex, democrats, Israel" yada yada yada.

Stop. This is the KGB manipulating the West and it has been for decades. Wake. the fuck. up.
Here’s where Veselovsky went… to Trump’s building projects.

And here’s the origins of their network.

Epstein was already doing KGB work in 1988 with Doug Leese.

This is what happened. Pester people about it until it’s on the front page of every paper. The sooner that happens the sooner we will be over this infection, and the closer Putin and Patrushev will be to the grave.

And of course it was KGB head Vladimir Kryuchkov (who ran the $50 billion money laundering op) and Epstein-Thiel pal Vitaly Churkin that brought Trump to Moscow in 1987.

politico.com/magazine/story…
Kryuchkov’s KGB actively pursued Trump (who was already known to the Czech StB because of his wife) after his 1985 directive to be more aggressive and creative about pursuing Western assets in business and politics. Trump, because of his personality and weaknesses, fit the bill perfectly.

Genrikh Borovik, Kryuchkov’s brother in law, was made head of the Soviet Peace Council and led all US-USSR citizen diplomacy programs, including the Burlington-Jaroslavl sister city deal that brought Bernie Sanders to Russia for his 1988 honeymoon, which was overseen by the KGB’s Intourist travel agency.
Genrikh Borovik was close with Vitaly Churkin and they operated together in the US under Kryuchkov’s direction in the late 1980’s. This was at the same exact time he was exfiltrating $50 billion from Communist Party coffers to the West via Robert Maxwell (with Epstein on deck). Image

Borovik was also close with Doug Coe of The Fellowship Foundation (aka “The Family”) and Paul Temple, who funded the Council for National Policy (CNP). Here they all are in 1988 at the US-USSR “Citizens Summit” – the same time Trump, Sanders, Epstein, were all also active.

Borovik was also famously implicated in spreading JFK assassination disinformation. Vasili Mitrokhin cited evidence in KGB archives that showed Borovik funded the work of lawyer Mark Lane (Rush to Judgment, 1966) and fed him “leads.” Lane’s work later formed the basis for Oliver Stone’s “JFK” conspiracy film.

Lane later became lawyer to Jim Jones of the People’s Temple, and was present at the time of the November 18, 1977 mass murder event.

This is the KGB’s legacy in America. There is plenty more to tell, and I may add to this thread. But if you want to get at the core of malign influence in the West, start with Kryuchkov and his $50 billion in Communist Party funds. It’s the black hole that has warped spacetime.
When Putin was a KGB shlub in Dresden in November 1989, Kryuchkov was his boss. And it was Kryuchkov who led the August 1991 ‘hardliner’ coup. Putin is following through on Kryuchkov’s designs, in an effort to save face and restore the dignity of the KGB.
As for what to do about any of this: expose banking records. @RonWyden has identified over $1bn in 4,725 transactions. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Subpoena everything you possibly can for the last ~40 years. Dig into Jersey and FIMACO also.

As for why this story hasn’t come out until now, almost no one has the attention capacity to unpack a story like this. I devoted -10 years to the task at the expense of much else. Working journalists (I am a sojourner with other supports) can’t afford to do that. So it remained invisible. Which Putin and friends did everything possible to encourage.
And honestly it wasn’t entirely hidden, either. Most of the pieces are there. I unlocked connective tissue using data analysis tools and archival research. But few put it all together into one cohesive story. We’re getting there now, with still some hard work left to do. But if we can get to a majority consensus on this history, we may have a real shot at getting out of this particular mess.
And I also want to recognize the dozens of collaborators who have worked tirelessly with me and others for many years to research and process this material. This thread is the product of literally tens of thousands of hours of research, reading, and analysis. Thanks to all involved. 🙏🏼
As for what's next, I have several deeply sourced original articles on this network in my backlog, and will be releasing them as soon as possible. This is painstaking work. In the meantime here is a quick video explainer of some of what's in this thread. More soon.

1/Vladimir Kryuchkov was literally Putin’s boss, and he recruited Donald Trump, Robert Maxwell, and Jeffrey Epstein. His goal was to export Communist Party funds to Western banks. Why? Because the USSR was crumbling and they had no private banks in Russia.
2/Mikhail Gorbachev served a purpose here: open up channels to the West and make Russia approachable. ‘Glasnost’ and ‘Perestroika’ lured gullible Americans to Genrikh Borovik, Kryuchkov’s brother in law, a KGB agent who ran the Soviet Peace Committee.
3/It was through these channels that Kryuchkov would attempt to establish beachheads of influence in the West, channeling funds towards Russia friendly projects. Putin, Kryuchkov’s junior lieutenant, would be the ultimate beneficiary of these investments.

It should be noted that Mike Johnson has no reported bank accounts and was funded by a co-author of Project Russia. Johnson’s job is to terminate the House, and he’s done it, for now.
Project Russia. Folks should have listened.

Very long story short, what we are finding is that both Trump and Epstein were products of a large scale subversion campaign designed by Vladimir Kryuchkov to topple the West, with Trump as a political front and Maxwells/Epstein tasked with allocating ~$50 billion in KGB funds.
The reason these 'files' will never be disclosed is that no one can deal with the reality of what's actually happened. The sexual stuff is a sideshow compared to this broader story arc, and rooted mostly in Epstein's own deviancy. But it's very noisy and creates leverage.
The investigation by @RonWyden of 4,725 wire transfers totaling >$1.1bn is our best hope of nailing this down. But we should expect that the bulk of this has nothing to do with sex and everything to do with influence and KGB subversion.

1/Russia and Thiel are done with Trump: Khanna, Massie, Greene, Boebert, Mace, Sherman, McGovern sign discharge petition to force release of Epstein files; will create significant public pressure for dirt on Trump, which will likely be difficult to fulfill.
2/Meanwhile Johnson, who is backed by authors of Project Russia, is running his own parallel game w/House Oversight, promising to release even more. But neither camp is talking about Sen. Wyden’s investigation into Epstein’s $1bn+ money flows that would reveal the full scope…
3/of his activities, which include infiltrating scientific research institutions in the same manner pursued by Robert Maxwell. Outside the prurient and illegal sexual activity, this is where the biggest story lies, and you can expect that Russia, Thiel and their allies…

1/Increasingly bothered by the argument that the path to “intelligence” requires the theft of all known intellectual property. That’s not anything but theft, and if you were actually building “intelligence” it theoretically requires near zero training data.
2/If, as proponents argue, we are simulating human intelligence “in silico” then we should be able to build what amounts to a 12 year old’s mind. A 12 year old can be extremely “intelligent” (genius level in fact) but has necessarily trained on very little data.
3/Few are talking about solving that problem, because we really haven’t figured out the neuro-symbolic architecture to do it. Instead, we are vacuuming up copyrighted works (stored intellectual work of others) and billing that as “PhD level intelligence.” What utter bullshit.

The funniest part about Zuck throwing billions into AI is his naming of the effort as “superintelligence,” as if that alone will manifest the gods. The second funniest part is he desperately tried to manifest the metaverse just 3 years ago — and failed at that, too.
What this tells us is that the core FB properties are aging cash cows and Zuck is desperate to invest billions in anything that will ensure his personal relevance as a tech titan 10-20 years from now. Good luck, but throwing money at things is no guarantee of success.
As @GaryMarcus and I have been saying the last few years, AI is up against some very challenging limits, and despite the massive investments in the space, progress has plateaued. Plenty to be done with what’s been built, but unclear the investments will be recouped anytime soon.
