1/ A group of Russian soldiers say their commanders are "simply driving us to the slaughter" after extorting and brutally beating them: "There's no support, no air force, nothing. You just stomp along and die." They are all now listed as missing in action. ⬇️
2/ The men are from the 328th Guards Airborne Assault Regiment (military unit 01011), which is currently fighting in the Zaporizhzhia region. Heavy fighting is ongoing south of Zaporizhzhia city, where the Russians are trying to open the route to the north. Image
3/ The soldiers say that they "encountered abusive practices—money collection—and we refused. Yet another money collection. They started collecting money for some company needs, from us, the soldiers. We refused to contribute. The next day, they came and beat us."
4/ "We got bruises on our faces. They threatened to send us on combat missions. And now they're still carrying on pointless combat missions. Our comrades died the day before yesterday, and didn't even last a day."
5/ The men complain that their commanders are "simply driving us to the slaughter. They're simply driving us to the slaughter. There's no support, no air force, nothing. No evacuation, nothing at all. You just stomp along and die. One way."
6/ "There are many who refuse, because the mission is absolutely pointless. There are 53 refuseniks in the 12th Company, a bunch of refuseniks in the 2nd Battalion, and a bunch of refuseniks in the 1st Battalion. The guys understand that everything is slowly coming to an end."
7/ A man named Evgeny Nikolaevich Sokolov, call sign “Sokol”, says that nobody returns from such combat missions. "They're simply erasing us, simply erasing us. The goal is to get rid of us as much as possible. Nobody wants to die, we don't want to die."
8/ They show their injuries from the beatings, which they say happened on 20 October 2025, and appeal for help from the military prosecutor's office. The video is accompanied by a handwritten note dated 18 October in which they state their refusal to follow combat orders: Image

9/ "We refuse to go on the combat mission [B.Z.] because we are not receiving any proper support. The commander does not provide any information about the situation on the B.Z.; everyone who has gone on tasks has come back as 200 [killed]." Image
Image
10/ "There are also monthly extortions of money. For refusing, we receive threats of being sent to the B.Z. with no return."

They were reportedly sent to the front lines on 21 October and are now all listed as missing in action (which in practice almost certainly means dead).
11/ The video was released by their relatives, who say they have received no information from the military authorities about their missing relatives.
12/ The men's account is corroborated by a separate video from another man in the same regiment, who says that "they're driving us through open minefields on foot". He asks: "How many times has our command been driving us to the slaughter?"
13/ Daniil Mikhailovich Grigorchuk, call sign 'Watchmaker', says that the regiment's commanders are disregarding its enormous losses. He describes how groups of soldiers regularly leave for missions, but none return :
14/ “When our fighters reach certain points, they simply disappear, and that’s it, and there’s silence,” he says.
15/ They are being sent into assaults with no support and minimal amounts of supplies and equipment, likely to limit losses of materiel when they are killed. (This is consistent with accounts from other units, as in the thread below).
16/ "They are telling us to go, not to take anything with us, like walking more than eight kilometers. Well, we're not complaining, we're fine, we're ready, we're going. No one is saying that we won't go or that we refuse.
17/ "It's just that it's at least easier for others, because we have no artillery, no nothing at all. We're just going with our four magazines, automatic rifles, and two grenades.
18/ "Some guys blow themselves up when there’s a heavy 300 [wound], because there’s no evacuation, nothing. They don't tell us anything, they lie, they say there's no enemy there, they're still preparing us for a long march."
19/ He asks his comrades to publish the video if he dies or goes missing, and expresses an almost certainly futile hope that the regiment's commanders would take appropriate measures to protect his fellow soldiers.
20/ Another man with the regiment, Valery Sergeevich Dukelsky, says that his company's original complement of 200 men was almost entirely wiped out. He claims that some were killed by their own side, presumably murdered at the front line to conceal their killings:
21/ "Out of 200 of us, there's not a single one left: some say [they are] 300 [wounded], some say 200 [killed]. Someone—from what they said, I can only guess—'Joker,' some other call sign, I don't remember what. They, well, from what they said, they killed them somewhere there."
22/ Dukelsky says that he nearly suffered the same fate as 'Joker', who was apparently murdered by his own side. Dukelsky says that he was woken up by three men from his unit who abducted him, beat him, forced him to make a false confession, and took him away to be murdered:
23/ "They said: we’ll take you to the mountain now and kill you, and you’ll be lying there along with Joker."

According to Dukelsky, he managed to escape from the trunk of a car in which he was being transported to his death, and fled.
24/ At the time when he recorded his audio testimony in September 2025, he was a fugitive and in hiding. It's not known what became of him. /end

1/ A Russian convict soldier has described the gruelling and deadly experience of serving in a 'Storm V' assault unit, from initial training, to facing swarms of Ukrainian drones, and being the only survivor of a bloody battle against dug-in and determined Ukrainian forces. ⬇️ Image
2/ Russian warblogger 'Maxim Kalashnikov' publishes the account of a Storm V soldier of his acquaintance:

"We weren't trained for long. At the Markovka training ground, the instructors, tired of repeating the same thing over and over again, don't care how you're trained."
3/ "The main thing for them is that there are no injuries or accidental hits on their own during shooting. However, these were rare. What did they teach us? Who knows? How did they teach us? Not at all from the point of view of survivability and combat effectiveness.

1/ Russians who were mobilised in 2022-23 and have survived to the present day may not live much longer, as they are reportedly being formed into assault squads, where they will likely be sent to their deaths. This is forecast to lead to a bribery bonanza for commanders. ⬇️ Image
2/ The 'Vault 8' Telegram channel reports:

"Bad news is coming from two directions—the "North" group and Zaporizhzhia."
3/ "There, the threat of "[sign a] contract or [go to an] assault" for mobilised soldiers has shifted to shady tactics: removing mobilised soldiers from the unit's roster and preparing them for transfer.

1/ Civilians under Russian occupation in the Luhansk region are starving and dying of cold because of a breakdown in essential services under the 'Luhansk People's Republic' (LPR), according to a complaint by a Russian warblogger. ⬇️ Image
2/ A significant number of Ukrainians – many of them elderly people, who grew up under the Soviet Union and often still hold pro-Russian views – still live in the frontline Svatove and Kreminna districts. However, they now have no electricity and conditions are reportedly dire. Image
3/ 'Veterans' Notes' warns that the region faces 'mass casualties' among the civilian population – who are now regarded by the occupation authorities as Russian citizens – if urgent action is not taken to restore power:

1/ The new US National Security Strategy blames 'undemocratic' European governments for failing to make peace with Russia, takes a pro-Russian position on NATO, reflects white nationalist views on European demographics, and pledges overt support for far-right parties. ⬇️ Image
2/ While the strategy states that "it is a core interest of the United States to negotiate an expeditious cessation of hostilities in Ukraine", it says that "the Trump Administration finds itself at odds with European officials who hold unrealistic expectations for the war…
3/ …perched in unstable minority governments, many of which trample on basic principles of democracy to suppress opposition."

(This is likely a reference to European regulation of social media and the 2024 annulment of the Romanian election due to Russian interference.)

1/ An apparent attack on a 'shadow fleet' tanker off the coast of Senegal means that Ukraine may now be able to attack Russian interests worldwide, says Russian war correspondent Alexander Kots. He calls it a new and threatening phase in the war. ⬇️
2/ Kots, who writes for Komsomolskaya Prava, has asked how Russia should respond to the severe damage suffered on 27 November by the oil tanker Mersin. Its Turkish owners report that the vessel was hit by four external explosions while it was in the eastern Atlantic Ocean.
3/ The crew is reportedly safe, but videos show the vessel down by the stern after the engine room flooded. The incident is strikingly similar to the confirmed Ukrainian attacks on 28 November against two oil tankers which were travelling to Russian Black Sea ports.

1/ A video showing alcoholics, newly recruited into the Russian army, has attracted scorn, concern, and even some compassion from Russian warbloggers. They suggest that the men will be deliberately killed for being useless when they arrive at the front. ⬇️
2/ "We are Russians - we don't care' comments that this video is far from being a unique case (a fact that other warbloggers have confirmed). "If you think these are just the most hopeless ones, then I have some bad news for you – these are only the ones that got busted."
3/ The 'House among the Laurels' Telegram channel writes:

"Oh, this war and its long duration, during which unknown meanness and a multitude of "grey" schemes have proliferated—options for greedy profits among participants in or close to the frontline communities."
