1/7 A new phase of fighting is beginning near Pokrovsk, one that is much more difficult and terrifying.
Pokrovsk has become a symbol of a new phase of the war, in which the enemy has lost at least 12,000, possibly 14,000, soldiers.
2/7 Our troops have received reinforcements and are holding back the aggressor's advance in the Pokrovsk-Mirnograd agglomeration.
Over the past day, the defence forces have stopped 50 enemy assaults. 123 occupiers have been neutralised.
3/7 Most of the enemy attacks took place in the area of responsibility of the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine "Azov", namely the "Chervona Kalyna" brigade.
The enemy is trying to infiltrate with small assault groups.
1/4 For Europeans who still support Putin — you may soon find out what Russia is really about.
The Russian government has officially authorized its Ministry of Defense to terminate military cooperation agreements with multiple European countries.
2/4 These are not symbolic documents — they were signed throughout the 1990s and early 2000s as part of post–Cold War security architecture.
Germany. Poland. Norway. The UK. Denmark. The Netherlands. Belgium. Czechia. Bulgaria. Romania. Croatia.
3/4 This is not new behavior.
This is exactly how it started with Ukraine — first the withdrawal from agreements, then the dismantling of trust, then open aggression.
Russia breaks treaties not because others violate them, but because treaties limit its ability to coerce.
1/6 🔴‼️🇺🇦👊 Reality Check Near Pokrovsk: Ukrainian Forces Are Advancing
While Russian propaganda insists on “constant advances,” the facts on the ground tell a very different story.
2/6 On December 17, Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief General Oleksandr Syrskyi confirmed that Ukrainian Defense Forces have retaken 72 square kilometers in the Pokrovsk sector of Donetsk Oblast:
•16 km² north of Pokrovsk
• 56 km² west of the city, near Hryshyne, Kotlyne, and Udachn
3/6 These are confirmed counter-offensive gains, not rumors — and they directly contradict Moscow’s claims of dominance in the area.
1/4 We’ve got great news today. I always knew Americans consistently support democracy — no matter what.
While Trump tried to “make peace with Russia,” public opinion moved in the opposite direction.
2/4 Support for sending weapons to Ukraine has reached a record high: 64% of Americans now back military aid, according to the new Ronald Reagan Institute survey. That’s higher than it was a year ago.
3/4 So while some politicians talk about stepping back from global leadership, the American people clearly believe the U.S. should stay engaged and support democracies under attack.
1/5 The Pokrovsk sector has devolved into a killing ground as Russian assault waves collapse under relentless Ukrainian drone and infantry strikes.
2/5 After failing to break through toward Dobropillia, Russian forces have shifted to a brutal strategy of holding the northern line at any cost sending hundreds of soldiers daily into open fields and anti-tank ditches that have become mass graves.
3/5 Ukrainian commanders warn that if these waves are not constantly suppressed, Russia could rebuild its salient and again threaten an encirclement of Pokrovsk.
1/7 Kupyansk
By early December, infiltration and accumulation routes had been largely blocked. In addition, our soldiers forced enemy UAV operators to retreat significantly, who in the early stages of infiltration had been flying from the northern part of Kupyansk.
2/7 It was at this stage that assault troops joined in to assist the 2nd Corps of the National Guard, 475 OSHB 92 OSHB, SSO and GUR units, as well as several brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
3/7 By December 10, they had mostly managed to block the enemy in high-rise buildings in the city center and clear the north.
