NameCheap revoked the domain name for the digital memorial we created to honor those massacred by Israel in Gaza.
Over 16,000 videos, mostly of war crimes, were removed.
NameCheap said our memorial "promotes, encourages, engages or displays cruelty to humans or animals."
Our video archival website has been cited in the Hague, which is probably why they are censoring it.
I took a meaningful break for the first time in years. I haven't checked email every day.
The time to appeal was already expired before I even saw the notice, which gave me only 48 hours to appeal.
The war on digital memory is coming for our archives.
Update: Reread the emails and there was never an opportunity to appeal.
We had 48 hours until @Namecheap stole our domain name, which they did.
@Namecheap Nuking our domain name just broke hundreds of links in lawsuits, court cases, and human rights reports.
@Namecheap Zionism remains the greatest danger to freedom of speech on planet earth.
@Namecheap We had to change our domain name from TikTokGenocide.com to Genocide.live because TikTok threatened to sue us (but not, apparently, Libs of TikTok).
We carefully preserved all links so as not to break citations in (for example) the genocide case.
All gone now.
@Namecheap The battle against our archives was first supposedly about trademarks, but now we are being accused of glorifying violence (by documenting it).
It doesn't matter the reason. They will censor.
@Namecheap I seriously doubt @Namecheap stealing the Gaza memorial archive's domain on New Years Eve was an accident.
They know this will be in the news, and doing this on NYE will minimize the story.
@Namecheap Here is what the website was before @Namecheap censored it.
