Texas Republicans suffered a humiliating defeat in a senate race yesterday. SD9 has been a rock-solid RED district for years. It flipped 30 points yesterday - giving Democrats a huge win. Conservatives are calling it a political earthquake.
Tarrant County is the biggest red county in the nation. Democrat Taylor Rehmet beats Republican Leigh Wambsganss in a district that Trump carried in 2024 by 17 points. The district hasn’t voted Democratic in half a century.
Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick blamed low turnout for a special election.
