Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw says Bharat is preparing DPRs for 7 new high-speed corridors, focusing on indigenous capability after learning from the Mumbai-Amdavad bullet train project.
Total network: ~4000 km with estimated investment ~₹16 lakh crore.

Why these routes?
Vaishnaw calls Hyderabad-Chennai-Bengaluru a “high-speed diamond” linking major economic hubs. Similar to Japan’s Tokyo-Osaka effect, expected to trigger development corridors along the route.

Major shift: 🇮🇳 Indigenous technology.
Track systems, viaduct construction, signalling, electrical infrastructure, propulsion components and even future bullet train manufacturing to be developed in Bharat.

Foreign partnership?
Vaishnaw says no decision yet. Bharat collaborated with Japan earlier but now understands high-speed complexity. Indian Railways has fully understood high-speed rail systems and is ready to implement them independently.

Tech philosophy as explained by Ashwini Vaishnaw:
▪️ Learn best practices from global leaders like Japan,China & South Korea
▪️ Adapt technology to Bharat's unique geography & needs
▪️ Build a strong domestic ecosystem
▪️ 100% Atmanirbhar high speed rail capability.

Big vision from Ashwini Vaishnaw:
Bharat isn’t just building one bullet train, it’s creating a long-term high-speed rail grid that could transform intercity travel, manufacturing & economic geography.
