The Claimants are suing the Health Research Authority (HRA), the body responsible for medical research ethics, and the Secretary of State.
They allege the HRA’s committee was actively misled into believing there was "no data" on cognitive impacts.

Data from animal trials showed puberty blockers reduced spatial memory and impacted the hippocampus. Despite legal requirements to consider animal research, the Claimants state this evidence was ignored in the approval process.
Wes Streeting permanently banned these drugs in Dec 2024 due to safety concerns. Now, £10.9 million of taxpayer money is being used to trial them on kids as young as 10. Why experiment with drugs already admitted to be unsafe?
Trial organisers even concede: "we do not know whether the trial may help" participants. The Claimants argue it is irrational to approve a clinical trial on a vulnerable group that cannot yield meaningful data
The risks are life-altering: harm to bone density and a 98% progression rate to cross-sex hormones, leading to potential loss of fertility. The Claimants seek to quash the approval and stop the recruitment of children immediately

@CitizenGO I put my neck on the line to persuade our directors to back this. A "conspiracy of silence" meant we had to fight for basic info, driving costs up. ⚖️
