Here are some useful prompting tips to get the most out of our new music generation model in Gemini, Lyria 3 ↓

Include these elements in your prompts to get the most out of your music generations:

🎶 Genre and Era: Lead with a specific genre, a unique mix, or a musical era.
(ex: 80s synth-pop, metal and rap fusion, indie folk, old country)
🥁 Tempo and Rhythm: Set the energy and describe how the beat feels.
(ex: upbeat and danceable, slow ballad, driving beat)
🎸 Instruments: Ask for specific sounds or solos to add texture to your track.
(ex: saxophone solo, distorted bassline, fuzzy guitars)
🎤 Vocals: Specify gender, voice texture (timbre), and range for the best delivery.
(ex: airy female soprano, deep male baritone, raspy rocker)
📝 Lyrics: Describe the topic, include personalized details, or provide your own text with structure tags.
(ex: “About an epic weekend” Custom: [Verse 1], A mantra-like repetition of a single word)
📸 Photos or Videos (Optional): If you want to give Gemini even more context for your track, try uploading a reference image or video to the prompt.

Once you have all your ingredients:

Describe a specific genre, mood, or topic to create unique tracks with lyrics or instrumental audio that fits your vibe.

With Veo 3.1, you can upload multiple images with your video prompts, which is especially helpful for settings or scenes that are difficult to describe.

Let’s take one video and see how switching up the reference image transforms the output 🧵

Now, let’s say you want to show the astronaut in a world that transforms from day to night.

Let the images do the heavy lifting for your environment, so the majority of your prompt can focus on other elements, like camera movements.

Want to add even more imagination to your video? Try uploading highly stylized images such as artwork, or even images you made in Nano Banana.

You can change the entire style of the scene or focus on transforming one specific area. Just use your prompt to direct Gemini on which aspects of the reference image to apply stylization to.

Here, we’ll take that same astronaut but add a painting as one of the images for a different aesthetic.
