Matveyev Kurgan was an important railway junction in 2014 and 2015 for the Russian army to transport its military goods to Ukraine. Numerous bases and camps were set up in the region during this period. 
2014: Numerous camps and bases of the Russian army were set up in the Matveyev Kurgan region for deployment in Ukraine.
2015: Here you can see a large ammunition depot belonging to the Russian army. Units in Ukraine were supplied from here. This depot appears to have been used most extensively in February 2015 during the battle for Debaltseve (Ukraine).
2015: Here, too, the highest usage can be seen in February 2015. Almost 100 Russian army vehicles can be seen. During this period, heavy fighting took place around Debaltseve (Ukraine).
The Russian army camps were set up in the summer of 2014 and reached their greatest extent in February 2015 during the Battle of Debaltseve (Ukraine).
