NOT tracking calories was the KEY to me getting abs by accident

Very few people know the dangers of following a calorie based fitness plan

Here's what they are:
Calorie counters falsely believe your metabolism is static

So they think subtracting calories will always result in more fat loss

Except when you consume less food, your metabolism often slows down

PARTICULARLY if it leads to worse performance in the gym
Calorie counters also believe the only way to burn more calories is to exercise more

This is so far from the truth it makes my blood boil

Because ~80% of the calories you burn are burned OUTSIDE the gym

So why the f*ck are you trying to optimize for the 20%?1

The EASIEST way to get abs without counting calories is to train for PERFORMANCE

Not the amount you sweat

Not the calories you burned

Not your time under tension

Not how sore you got

But pure performance

Here’s why:
The VAST majority of the calories we burn are burned AT REST

I achieved a Resting Metabolic Rate in the 99th percentile (burning ~2,578 cals daily from just breathing) by focusing on exactly 2 goals:

-Increasing weight lifted (with proper form)

-Increasing conditioning output Image
In order to increase the weight you lift, you must eat

A LOT

I don’t eat according to a calorie count

But if you counted how much I do eat, it would average 3,000-4,000 calories every day

If I ate any less, I wouldn’t be able to build muscle and my metabolism would slow down Image

I used to run 4 miles every morning before work, followed by lifting

I assumed abs weren’t in my genetic profile

Here’s what changed 👇🏼
I started doing far less cardio, but at a higher intensity
I began experimenting with how much protein I could fit on my plate relative to the carbs

I refused to count calories or go hungry, but I aggressively stacked protein every meal

My diet for a year-round six-pack at 36 years old?

Mostly pizza, burgers, fries & tacos

Yet I’m stronger & leaner than I was as a pro athlete

Because I ignore calories & embrace a performance based lifestyle

Here's how to 2x your results while breaking all the rules:
1. Make sure you're RESTING enough to perform

As a pro athlete, I thought I needed to train for HOURS per day to be in shape

Turns out all that extra work just meant I could NEVER get A level workouts in

At 36, I train 70% less and get BETTER results
2. Make sure you're prioritizing sleep 💤

EVEN if that means skipping a workout

Without sleep, we can't recover from training

And without recovery, we cannot get stronger or faster

And if we can't get stronger or faster, our metabolism will SLOW down

If I were China & wanted to wage war on the US, I would first use NGOs to funnel money into research convincing Americans to hate their country

Then I would use my power to restrict American movie distribution to strong arm American Media to slander any anti-China politicians
Then I would invade Taiwan to control their semiconductor production

Then if the US fought back, I would ban pharmaceutical imports to “hostile nations”

& if 20% of Americans had a 90 day gap in getting their prescriptions refilled, my enemy’s homeland would be an insane asylum
Then if things further escalated, I would use the dollars I had saved from not renewing my treasury purchases

And continue to covertly stockpile Bitcoin
