NOT tracking calories was the KEY to me getting abs by accident
Very few people know the dangers of following a calorie based fitness plan
Here's what they are:
Calorie counters falsely believe your metabolism is static
So they think subtracting calories will always result in more fat loss
Except when you consume less food, your metabolism often slows down
PARTICULARLY if it leads to worse performance in the gym

The EASIEST way to get abs without counting calories is to train for PERFORMANCE
Not the amount you sweat
Not the calories you burned
Not your time under tension
Not how sore you got
But pure performance
Here’s why:
The VAST majority of the calories we burn are burned AT REST
I achieved a Resting Metabolic Rate in the 99th percentile (burning ~2,578 cals daily from just breathing) by focusing on exactly 2 goals:
-Increasing weight lifted (with proper form)
-Increasing conditioning output

I used to run 4 miles every morning before work, followed by lifting
I assumed abs weren’t in my genetic profile
Here’s what changed 👇🏼
I started doing far less cardio, but at a higher intensity

My diet for a year-round six-pack at 36 years old?
Mostly pizza, burgers, fries & tacos
Yet I’m stronger & leaner than I was as a pro athlete
Because I ignore calories & embrace a performance based lifestyle
Here's how to 2x your results while breaking all the rules: 1. Make sure you're RESTING enough to perform
As a pro athlete, I thought I needed to train for HOURS per day to be in shape
Turns out all that extra work just meant I could NEVER get A level workouts in
At 36, I train 70% less and get BETTER results

If I were China & wanted to wage war on the US, I would first use NGOs to funnel money into research convincing Americans to hate their country
Then I would use my power to restrict American movie distribution to strong arm American Media to slander any anti-China politicians
Then I would invade Taiwan to control their semiconductor production
Then if the US fought back, I would ban pharmaceutical imports to “hostile nations”
& if 20% of Americans had a 90 day gap in getting their prescriptions refilled, my enemy’s homeland would be an insane asylum

As pro baseball players, we were treated like cattle
As crazy as it sounds, this gave me an unfair advantage when I entered the workforce
Here's why 👇🏽
Our physical appearance and health were always being evaluated
It became instinctual for me to do it to others in my environment
When I started working in finance, I noticed most men in their 30s essentially sold their health for money
And I was unwilling to make this trade

If your IQ is over 135
You need to code, trade or get the fuck out of Corporate America
You’ll be punished for your cognition and it will destroy your soul
Like Nietzsche said, “One is punished most for one’s virtues”

Calories in / Calories out Zealots will hate this…
But you can absolutely lose fat & gain muscle at the same time
Don’t believe me? What do you think happens to steroid users?
And there are 2 ways you can get a similar effect WITHOUT steroids
Here’s how👇🏼
When you view fat loss and muscle gain as primarily hormonal, everything makes more sense
And then your focus shifts away from calories and towards optimizing your endocrine system…

Calorie Counting is completely unnecessary for fat loss
We stay shredded year round
Without ever going hungry or tracking a single calorie
Here's how you can too ⬇️ 1. Focus on maximizing your Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR)
That's the amount of calories you burn doing nothing
If your trainer or dietician has never shared this concept with you
Fire them immediately
Because you can ABSOLUTELY turn your RMR into a rocket ship

Do you know what your body fat % is?
I started 2023 at 6.14% body fat
But what does this really mean?
And why do people of the same body fat % look different?
Allow me to explain the various methods & their shortcomings👇🏼
My percentage is derived from a skin fold test, which is incredibly convenient
You can buy a caliper for $20 online and easily take relevant measurements
This test is intended to approximate your body fat as tested by underwater submersion, the original gold standard test

Just saw an overweight dude running in the concrete sidewalk
A for effort
F for efficacy
Please do not let this be you
ALL training comes with both Strengths AND Weaknesses
There are many forms of cardio you can choose from
Jogging provides some cardiac benefits, but at a high cost to your joint integrity
Especially if you are overweight
Doubly so if you do it on concrete

Here are 5 reasons baseball practice was my most educational class
1. School teaches you that grown ups think with logic
Baseball taught me that grown ups are pack animals and think with emotions
Accept it or suffer the consequences waiting for a world that will never exist

If you foolishly believe the Founding Fathers wanted the United States to be a Democracy, let me quickly dispel this myth ⬇️
When the Constitution was written, a far lower percentage of the population was eligible to vote
And a far lower percent of those eligible actually voted

9 Reasons Calories are Bullshit ⬇️
1. You can't know how many calories you're eating
The FDA permits companies to be off by up to 20% with their nutrition labels
You could be eating 2,000 calories or 3,000 calories on the same "strict" 2,500 calorie diet
