A safari in Masai Mara, Kenya has to easily one of the top peak experiences of my life 🥹
It completely changes how you see wildlife and the wild 🦁🐾

From visa to flights to vaccines to itinerary, here are 11 things you need to know before planning your trip 👇Image
Image
Image
🛂 1. Kenya ETA (Visa)
Kenya requires an ETA, and the fee is 35 USD
Apply only on the official website:
Documents required: passport copy, passport size photo, hotel booking, return ticket, travel dates
Approval is usually quicketakenya.go.ke
💉 2. Yellow Fever & Other Vaccines
Yellow Fever vaccine is mandatory for Kenya. It is given only at authorised government centres in India

Search “yellow fever vaccine + your city” on Google to find the correct centre. For ex. -Pune has only one authorised centre
Some cities allow walk in, while others require an appointment so it is very city specific.
Apart from this, oral polio drops are also recommended
We did not take this and were not asked for it, but we had heard from others that it can be required

If you want to be completely safe, you can take it, but in most cases it is not strictly checked. Remember to carry the yellow vaccination booklet while travelling
✈️ 3. Flights from India
Direct flights are therefrom Delhi and Mumbai to Nairobi
Airlines include Kenya Airways, Indigo and Air India.
Flight duration is around 6 hours
Very smooth and convenient route. We took Kenya Airwaya, wasn't like a WOW service but great overall.
🗺️ 4. Typical Kenya Itinerary
Start from Nairobi
3 nights Masai Mara
1 night Lake Nakuru
1 night Lake Naivasha (optional, can be skipped)

So if you have more time, would recommend you add 2 nights Amboseli, it is absolutely worth it.
Some people also add Mombasa or Diani Beach for a coastal experience (I have mixed reviews for that, some like it and some don't )

If short on time, we would have skipped Nakuru and Naivasha and include Amboseli instead. Park fee in Amboseli is lesser. Elephant sightings are excellent !
🦁 5. Main National Parks
Masai Mara -famous for Big Five sightings, rhinos are rare
Lake Nakuru -known for rhinos and birdlife
Amboseli - known for large elephant herds and Mt Kilimanjaro views
Each park offers a different wildlife experience !
There might be more offbeat parks as well but these are the more popular ones.
💰 6. Costs and Park Fees
Kenya is not cheap mainly because of park fees
Masai Mara fee is 100 USD Jan to June and 200 USD July to Dec
Lake Nakuru is approx 90 USD
Amboseli is approx 60 to 90 USD
For a 7 day trip, park fees alone can be around 800 USD in peak season

Most safari lodges are all inclusive
Overall, a comfortable Kenya trip costs approx 2.75 to 3 lakh INR per person including flights. Of course you can do it for lesser, but I'm talkin' of a good comfortable experience.
Best to book a trip via travel advisor as they secure the best rates for you which you don't find online. You can DM if you are looking for a trusted contact.
🌿 7. Conservancy vs Main Masai Mara
Conservancies are private areas next to the main Masai Mara and animals move freely between both

Conservancy fees are around 130 USD per person per day all year.
Main park fees range from 100 to 200 USD depending on season (check point 6)

Conservancies have fewer vehicles and feel more exclusive with dense wildlife sightings and the popular ones include Olare Motorogi, Naboisho and Ol Kinyei.
⚠️ 8. Safety Tips
Nairobi is generally safe but avoid walking alone late at night
Keep your belongings secure
Maasai village visits are culturally interesting but can feel slightly commercialised !
Always book safaris and transfers with reliable operators ONLY (DM if you need details)
💵 9. Currency and Payments
Currency is Kenyan Shilling
We carried USD and exchanged locally. Cash is widely accepted
Cards are accepted in most lodges and restaurants and even park fees.
Uber works well in Nairobi
Keep small change for tolls and quick stops.
Overall verdict is to carry some USD and get it exchanged there, don't completely rely on card.
🚙 10. Internal Travel
Highly recommend planning this through a travel advisor or a reliable local operator.
You will need a 4x4 or Land Cruiser for safaris, this is non negotiable !
Some lodges include game drives, but transfers between parks are separate.
Best to book your transfers and safaris through a trusted operator for seamless logistics
@TravelBluez is best in business for Kenya, no second doubts.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 11. Travelling with Kids
Kids are allowed in Masai Mara and there is no official restriction by the park, but rules are set by lodges and camps
Most properties have a minimum age of around 5+ yrs for shared game drives and sometimes kids below 5 are allowed at some lodges but may need a private vehicle.

6+ years is generally the ideal age for safaris, while 12+ can participate in most activities as well.
Conservancies may have stricter rules, while the main Masai Mara is more straightforward for families
Safaris are safe for kids if planned well, just keep in mind that game drives can be long and require them to be very quiet and still.
Kenya might feel a little intimidating at first, but with the right planning, its one of the smoothest and most rewarding trips you can do, even with family (provided you do it with a good travel advisor)

If you found this thread helpful, do share it with your family and friends. You can also save this as a checklist or guideline, trust me it will come in very handy while planning your trip.

Follow along and share this as Ill be posting more insights from our Kenya trip, including a fantastic redemption we did for our stay !Image

The Oman Mini Guide is finally here 🤌🇴🇲
With flights from India mostly under ₹15k, Oman could easily be your next perfect 5 to 6 day getaway, especially in the coming months when the weather’s just right.

Trust me, this is all you need to plan your trip, from visas and car rentals to stays, experiences, and even the budget 💰.
A complete, no-fluff guide to help you plan an easy, scenic, and budget-friendly Oman holiday.

✈️ Save this for your next Middle East escape, let’s dive in 👇🏻Image
Image
How to get your Visa 🛂
Getting a visa for Oman is fairly straightforward. If you already hold a valid US, UK, Schengen, Australian, Canadian, or Japanese visa, you are eligible for visa-free arrival for up to 14 days.
Otherwise, you can apply through Oman-authorized DMCs or travel agents.
The process is simple and Visa costs approx ₹3,500, and there’s even a Tatkal option where the visa is processed within 1–2 daysImage

Best Time to Visit ⛱️
The ideal time to explore Oman is between October and March when the weather is pleasantly cool. Summers can be harsh, especially in the desert and mountains, so winter months are perfect for outdoor activities.Image

What’s that one thing that a post on X made you do?
For me it was switching to an electric toothbrush and has been one of the best healthcare upgrades I’ve made !
So this started after I came across a post on X by Chirag Barjatya on electric toothbrush and that same day, I ordered one for myself. And honestly, it’s been a game changer ever since !
Oracura was the first electric toothbrush I bought (I've also attached a screenshot of the bill coz people here think everything is marketing 😅) and I genuinely loved it. So when they recently sent me few of their products to try, of course I said yes as I already knew and trusted the brand.Image
Image
This time I used the toothbrushes that comes with three modes, including a gentle mode for sensitive teeth and a massage mode I didn’t know I needed 😭super soothing, especially during travel. And at this price point, it’s such a great value for the quality.
What surprised me most was their natural toothpaste. I’ve been loyal to Colgate for years and rarely switch, but this one really worked well for my sensitivity and left a refreshing taste. Been using it for over 30 days now, and I’m impressed.

Travelling to Central Europe? 🇨🇿

If Prague is on your list (and trust me, it should be!), here’s a post packed with all the tips you need to plan it right — from how many days to spend, budgeting, getting around, best times to visit, and more.
Share this with someone who’s planning a trip to Prague 🇨🇿✈️
Thread below 👇🏻Image

1️⃣Prague is Pretty Much Cashless 💳
We managed almost everything using our cards —From cafes and stores to public transport (even inside trams!), card payments are accepted almost everywhere. Super smooth and convenient.
Having said that, Carry minimal Euros for spends like walking tour tip, may be chimney cakes, souvenirs etc.
2️⃣ Prague is easily one of Europe’s most affordable capitals 💸
For a comfortable 3-day trip as a couple:
Hotels: ₹7K–8K per night
Daily expenses: ~₹10K per couple/day (food, transport)
Miscellaneous: Entry, Souvenirs, impulsive spends ~20k extra
Of course excludes flight.

👉 You can easily do it within ₹70K–75K total for two.
And if you’re on a budget — just slash that in half. Plenty of scope to save with hostels, free attractions, and affordable eats!

✨Exploring the Best of Banaras in 3 Days - a perfect winter itinerary✨

With winter kicking in, it felt like the perfect time to share my travelogue.
Bonus :This comes with with food recommendations that are best known to Banaras and personally tried and tested by me across my two trips.

Earlier this year, I traveled to Banaras with my mom. I first visited Banaras five years ago, and gradually fell in love with the place. It's a place full of energy - sometimes chaotic - but beautiful in all aspects. Banaras is one of the oldest cities in the world, and honestly feels as if you've travelled back in time but the cultural immersion it offers is just something else. I wanted my mom to experience that same serenity and belonging towards this city of eternity as I did both of us came back with our hearts full 🩷

From the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti 🙏to peaceful boat rides 🚤, sacred Kashi Vishwanath Temple to the incredible local food 🍲, we explored it all.
Traveling with my mom made it even more special, and Banaras truly shines when shared with family. If you’re looking for a spiritual and gastronomical adventure,
Read on as I share a perfect Banaras itinerary for this winter !Image

Day 1
✈️Arrive in Banaras and check into your hotel. If you’re traveling with senior parents or prefer convenience, try to stay close to Dashashwamedh Ghat or Kashi Vishwanath Temple for easy access to the main attractions.

Head to Dashashwamedh Ghat in the evening and take a leisurely walk around the area, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere✨
Make sure to be there by 5:00 PM to grab a good spot for the Ganga Aarti 🪔—it’s an experience you won’t want to miss.

While you're at the ghats, you can also visit the Sitla Mata Mandir here. Then later walk through the markets towards Gowdoliya chowk heading directly to Kashi Chaat Bhandar to enjoy some delicious food like Tamatar Ki Chaat and Chura Matar—especially great with the sweetness of winter matar 🍽️.

then end the day on a sweet note with a classic Banarasi Paan 🍃(There's one right below Hotel Ganges Grand) —the perfect way to wrap up the day !Image

Day 2✨

Start your day with a breakfast at Ram Bhandar, enjoying Kachori Sabji and follow it up with Malaiyo at Sriji 🥘.

Later in the day, take a peaceful boat ride 🚤 along the Ganga, covering 40 ghats from Manikarnika to Harishchandra. Don’t miss bird feeding 🕊️—buy bhujias from the boat vendors to feed the birds, a fun local touch. Afterward, relax by the ghats, enjoy the view, and sip on a refreshing Lemon Chai from the tea vendors 🍋( The boat typically costs 1k-1.5k, however you will find vendors asking even 3/4k , so be aware)

For lunch, head to Batti Chokha for Bihari-style chokha and litti 🍽️or else simple meal at any local Thali place.

Visit Kaal Bhairav Mandir followed by the famous Kashi Vishwanath Temple, one of the most famous Jyotirlingas in India ⛪.
To avoid long queues, book Sheegra Darshan tickets online and also check the Garba Griha timings if you want a closer darshan. also make sure to visit Annapurna Mandir.

In the evening, enjoy a refreshing lasst at the Blue Lassi, a must-try in Banaras. Afterwards, explore the markets near Vishwanath Market and Gowdoliya 🛍️ for Banarasi sarees/weaves.

For dinner, head to Shree Cafe in the Dashashwamedh area 🍽️(they have lovely street photography pictures in the cafe) , or a cozy meal at Pizzeria Vatika Cafe, famous for its delicious pizzas and also Apple pies.Image
