✨Exploring the Best of Banaras in 3 Days - a perfect winter itinerary✨
With winter kicking in, it felt like the perfect time to share my travelogue.
Bonus :This comes with with food recommendations that are best known to Banaras and personally tried and tested by me across my two trips.
Earlier this year, I traveled to Banaras with my mom. I first visited Banaras five years ago, and gradually fell in love with the place. It's a place full of energy - sometimes chaotic - but beautiful in all aspects. Banaras is one of the oldest cities in the world, and honestly feels as if you've travelled back in time but the cultural immersion it offers is just something else. I wanted my mom to experience that same serenity and belonging towards this city of eternity as I did both of us came back with our hearts full 🩷
From the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti 🙏to peaceful boat rides 🚤, sacred Kashi Vishwanath Temple to the incredible local food 🍲, we explored it all.
Traveling with my mom made it even more special, and Banaras truly shines when shared with family. If you’re looking for a spiritual and gastronomical adventure,
Read on as I share a perfect Banaras itinerary for this winter !
Day 1
✈️Arrive in Banaras and check into your hotel. If you’re traveling with senior parents or prefer convenience, try to stay close to Dashashwamedh Ghat or Kashi Vishwanath Temple for easy access to the main attractions.
Head to Dashashwamedh Ghat in the evening and take a leisurely walk around the area, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere✨
Make sure to be there by 5:00 PM to grab a good spot for the Ganga Aarti 🪔—it’s an experience you won’t want to miss.
While you're at the ghats, you can also visit the Sitla Mata Mandir here. Then later walk through the markets towards Gowdoliya chowk heading directly to Kashi Chaat Bhandar to enjoy some delicious food like Tamatar Ki Chaat and Chura Matar—especially great with the sweetness of winter matar 🍽️.
then end the day on a sweet note with a classic Banarasi Paan 🍃(There's one right below Hotel Ganges Grand) —the perfect way to wrap up the day !

Japan is a dream destination for many travelers and now in one of the Top 3 countries I've visited.
Easy to plan & navigate if you know few basics
The below 🧵should be helpful for some Key Tips ✴️
1️⃣Cash in King in Japan 💰💵
Would highly recommend carrying atleast 10000 Yen/day while travelling with you everyday . Although you might not need it daily but a lot of places don't accept cards including most shrine entrances, restaurants and metro stations etc.
