The morning after the night before. A dreadful 24 hours for Ukraine as Terrorism rained down on all four of 🇺🇦's biggest cities.
Russia acts with impunity. Putin & his commanders have got away with war crimes for 4 years, so what will change?
Here's the🧵for Day 1513
As I type, BSky is down, which causes problems as it's much easier to simul-post than go back & repost everything later.
So, like the old days before fascism took over here, I'm on X (itter) only.
But these problems are infinitesimally small compared to 1000s in Ukraine today.
A pretty astonishing 24 hours of round-the-clock day and night attacks from Russia. Trying to exhaust Ukraine's air defence missiles and also exhaust the operators too, no doubt.
Many, many civilian deaths and injuries.
This is how it unfolded..
The attacks on Ukraine started, stopped, started again and missiles and drones were still being fired on Kyiv until the air raid warning was finally switched off at 07:30
Meanwhile, Kharkiv is still being attacked.
An office building is on fire after a drone strike in the city.
Here is the approximation of the density and trajectory of weapons fired by Russia in the latest terrorist attack on Ukraine.
1/2 This is how Kyiv looked at dawn after Russia's drone and missile attack.
But the terrorism still wasn't over...
2/2 A little later in Kyiv, another drone just flew straight into an apartment block in the capital city.
In among all the new devastation, I want to flag this up again from last night, as, not surprisingly, it got drowned out among the killings.
Russia is, quite simply, an evil state; led by criminals.
There are also widespread power cuts across Ukraine.
People in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kharkiv, Sumy + Poltava regions all have problems due to shelling
The worst is maybe Mykolaiv. 3 injured there were a family in this house hit by debris
So here are the bold figures of Russia's attack over the course of the day.
Over 700 projectiles (44 missiles) fired at Ukraine
Air defence stopped these missiles:
8/19 ballistics
19/20 Kh-101 cruise missiles 4/5 Iskander cruise
and 636/659 attack drones = 96.5% success 💪
Russia's losses now, and in the last 24 hours another air defence system was destroyed according to Ukraine's General Staff.
In addition, 1,100 invaders paid for their sins, and again over 200 vehicles used by Russia's military were laid to waste.
After the attack residents in this block of flats in Kyiv saw just how lucky they had been.
Part of a ballistic missile was literally at their door.

Four of the injured in Kyiv are a medical team heading in to help the already wounded.
Whether it's a deliberate double-tap attack cannot be categorically stated as so much crap was flying at the time.
The ambulance is shown here, I believe the medics' lives are not in danger.
Add 3 more injured to the list, after another attack o Odesa this morning.
Here's footage of the devastation in the southern coastal city from the first few attacks of the evening and night.
It's a day of mourning in Odesa following the 9 killings.
#RussiaIsATerroristState
The 3 latest injuries in Odesa have come in one of the city markets. A child is among the victims.
A car dealership, private houses and a civilian cargo ship under the flag of Nauru, have all been hit.
A white drone can be seen flying into another apartment block.
More pics from the overnight attack on Odesa.
Russia's purely a terrorist state. It's acutely embarrassed at not taking any regional capital in 1500+ days, and not even totally occupying the Donbas
All they have left is terror.
And it's coming to western Europe if not stopped.
More photos from Kyiv now too.
This is the Podil district. Here we see damage to apartment blocks and the Ambassador Hotel.
This is where the ambulance crew were attacked and injured.
A branch of Ukraine's post office, UkrPoshta was also damaged, but it looks like peripheral damage, similar to suffered by many buildings in the area and not a direct attack on the post office itself.
Zaporizhzhia region did not escape the attacks either.
Though the terror is often caused by drones throughout the day, with occasional rockets.
#RussiaIsATerroristState
Strange, but Russia deliberately attacked two car dealerships overnight - the one in Odesa I wrote about a couple of posts ago, and this one in Kyiv.
Another day, another country.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy is in the Netherlands.
The country presented all the Ukrainian people with the Four Freedoms Award, which the President accepted this morning.
It recognises the courageous struggle for freedom and democracy.
Oh, a sad update on the car dealership story above.
Two security guards at the luxury car market were killed in the attack.
#RussiaMustPay
1/2 Ukraine made hits inside Russia too, with strategic targets being hit.
First a couple of videos from the strike I wrote about in yesterday's thread (early this morning). A hit on an oil depot in Tuapse, a port in Russia's Krasnodar region...
2/2 I already knew an oil loading pier was on fire along with 2 tanks of oil.
Since then it seems the flames spread to a 3rd oil tank in Tuapse and now some locals report ANOTHER tank has exploded.
Russia claims 2 people died and 7 were injured.
In Belgorod a substation was hit and residents there too have problems with electricity.

You've found the start of another daily thread and Friday is Day 1507 of Ukraine's heroic struggle to keep alive its independent statehood.
Since Bohdan Khmelnytskyi's uprising in 1648, Ukraine has never had 35 years of freedom. It's about to accomplish that, but at what cost?
All the important stories, throughout the day, every day. It's all fact-checked; I'm a real, trained journalist with vast experience and knowledge of Ukraine.
What's not to love?😆
Catch up on yesterday's thread here:
This is the beginning of the daily Ukraine thread on Day 1491.
The day started with an attack a major Russian port, which I was still reporting on during yesterday's🧵at 03:15 GMT/05:15 Kyiv
More details on that coming up.
The aerial fightback at the end of the day (start of today) came after Russia broke every record in the book for drone numbers during a cowardly attack on less protected city centres in the west of the country.
The war in Europe continues. This is Day 1445 of Russia's attempt to erase Ukraine from the map & destroy its language and culture.
The genocide continues as I type, with a massive missile attack underway.
For all the news as it happens, keep checking back. This is THE daily🧵
Yesterday started with a supposed assassination attempt on another very senior Russian soldier.
A load of other great stories too, including the start of the overnight attack on Ukraine's remaining energy facilities. Catch up on what you missed here:
