10 years ago today, a few guys looked at the VPN industry and said "this all sucks."
So they built Windscribe.
No VC funding.
No shareholders to appease.
No dumping millions into paid sponsorships.
No affiliate program (anymore).
We just focused on building the best VPN and privacy tools we could.
Open-sourced apps (with fart sounds).
RAM-only physical servers.
Best ad & tracker blocking.
We won in court to prove no logs.
We continue to fight censorship to this day.
And a hundred other things.
None of that would be possible without the support of all of you. You laugh at our dumb jokes, you keep us honest, and you fight alongside us against a world that is desperately trying to take away your online privacy.
Thank you all for 10 years, there is so much more to come!
And to celebrate we're having a sale! Get Windscribe for $29/year (58% off) until May 4th! windscribe.com/upgrade?promo=…

The richest VPNs have left Russian citizens behind.
NordVPN doesn't care. ExpressVPN gave up. Others get lucky and it works sometimes. Even fewer actually do something to help.
We are one of the few.
Instead of sponsoring 50 thousand random YouTubers, we actually did the work. We implemented AmneziaWG and other anti-censorship measures in our apps and servers.
And they're working.
People in Russia are able to connect to the open internet.
If you're in Russia or know someone in Russia who needs VPN access, tell them to try the latest Windscribe app. The following settings have worked for many: 1. Set Preferences > Connection > Connection Mode to Manual and the Protocol to WireGuard on Port 443. 2. Enable Circumvent Censorship in the same menu. 3. Select one of the provided Configurations from the menu. Cycle through all of them to see which one connects.
If you're unable to download the Windscribe app from our website or mobile stores, head to our Telegram for direct download links: t.me/WindscribeHQ
We just launched a revolutionary new cryptocurrency.
Introducing FuttBux ($FBUX) - the digital currency you earn by doing NOTHING.
Gone are the days of yearning for earnings while lounging in the couch, because we've finally made it possible. So sit down and start making money.
$FBUX is tied directly to your Windscribe's data usage - the less data you use, the more $FBUX you earn. It's that simple! In fact, why don't we let our CEO Geoff Pesos explain it to you in his fireside chat:
The economy of unproductivity is here and our FuttBux tokens are the first step. And the last. Because anymore steps would be extra work and that's not what FuttBux is about.
All the details about FuttBux, including the technical brownpaper for the coin: windscribe.com/futtbux
The Chinese Great Firewall leak is pretty insane. 600GB of documents and source code, giving us a look at just how much surveillance and censorship they are capable of. It's pretty scary. Let's look at some highlights from InterSecLab's great report 1/8 interseclab.org/research/the-i…
First off, through a private company called Geedge Networks, China has essentially commercialized the Firewall and Surveillance technology. They are exporting it to other authoritarian governments in Kazakhstan, Ethiopia, Pakistan, Myanmar and another unknown country. 2/8
The tech they offer allows for mass regional censorship, monitoring individual people's internet activity, infecting devices with malware and even launching DDoS attacks. This image of their software shows just how granular the monitoring system is. 3/8
Just seeing this post and going to push back. A guy who vibe coded an airplane game isn't someone you should take security advice from. While the sentiment about big VPNs using fear to sell their product is true (not us though), it doesn't mean VPNs are completely useless. (1/8)
The claim that all you need is HTTPS and custom DNS to be private online is laughable. If your traffic isn't being proxied, your ISP knows everything you're doing, regardless of who resolves your domains. Good VPNs do all of that - encrypt, reroute DNS, and proxy traffic. (2/8)
HTTPS/TLS packets have SNI headers which means that you STILL give away the website you're visiting. Here's a capture of a TLS packet, notice how in its headers, you see the domain it is going to. So even with HTTPS and custom DNS, you're still giving out your activity. (3/8)
