Glenn Dubin is an investor and philanthropist. He is the Founder and Principal of Dubin & Co. LP, a private investment firm, as well as the Chairman of the Dubin Family Foundation.
In 1992, Glenn co-founded Highbridge Capital Management LLC, an alternative asset management company. During his tenure as CEO, Highbridge evolved from a multi-strategy hedge fund into a diversified alternative asset management institution with over $35 billion of capital under management.
In 2009, Highbridge was acquired by J.P. Morgan Asset Management, and Glenn remained at the helm until 2013 to oversee the transition.
In late 2012, Glenn partnered with a prominent group of investors to acquire Castleton Commodities International LLC (“CCI,” formerly Louis Dreyfus Highbridge Energy), a global merchant energy company active in the physical and financial commodity markets as well as infrastructure investing.
In 2015, CCI acquired Morgan Stanley’s Global Oil Merchanting business, positioning the company as one of the world’s leading independent energy merchants. Dubin & Co. is the lead shareholder of CCI.
In 2013, Glenn founded Engineers Gate LP, a quantitative trading company committed to building a next generation operating and technology platform for systematic trading strategies.
In January 2020, Engineers Gate, led by long-term Dubin & Co. partner, Greg Eisner, was spun out of Dubin & Co. and today operates as a successful independent hedge fund.
Glenn’s investment focus has broadened in recent years, expanding to include investments in early and late-stage growth companies, where he provides strategic advice and mentorship to their founders.
Glenn is a co-Founder, Board member and former Board chair of the Robin Hood Foundation, an organization that pioneered the application of investment principles to charitable giving. Established in 1988, Robin Hood is now the largest poverty-fighting organization in New York City, having invested more than $3 billion dollars in over 425 community partners that deliver essential services such as food, housing, education, legal assistance, and workforce development for low-income families.
Glenn also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Mount Sinai Health System, where he and his wife, Dr. Eva Andersson-Dubin, established the Dubin Breast Center, a leading institution for breast cancer research and clinical care. In recognition of their contributions, both received an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Mount Sinai in 2013.
Additionally, Glenn is an active member of the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee of the Museum of Modern Art.
Glenn is the first in his family to attend college, graduating from Stony Brook University in 1978 with a B.A. in Economics.
He was awarded with an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from the University in 2012.
A former Stony Brook Seawolves football player, Glenn made the largest private donation to an athletics department within the SUNY system funding the construction of the Dubin Family Athletic Performance Center and Stony Brook University’s Indoor Training Facility.
